Just picked up a 2006 SL55 with 6800 miles...silver with charocal, pano, bi-xenon, vented seats, parktronic, nav, sat, etc

I have a lot of questions, but lets start with blue tooth...

The car has some werid connector in the arm-rest - which looks like I am supposed to attached something... a phone? a cradle? a nipple?

can I get this do do bluetooth and work with my blackberry or do I need to use the cartonics box????

There is no ipod kit for this car. It would most likely be the MHI Phone connection point. Here is a pic. If you do have this then yes you can have your black berry in there. You just need to pick up the bluetooth adapter for it.

Do I just get that from MB? Also, since there seem to be other companies that make similar products - are there any better aftermarket products or is this the best bet?

Yes you can get it from MB, but I have no experience with aftermarket ones sorry.

OK thanks. I actually bought the unit from Catronics ain ATL- so we will see how that works once I get it. Hope to have it tomorrow...

I have the same one from the same place....worked great with my BlackBerry Bold and works great with my new BlackBerry Tour

It plugged right in and the bluetooth works...I have not been able to get it to upload my contacts as yet, but will be back out in the garage shortly to give it another try...
