May sell '07 SL55... best place/way?
My SL55 continues to sit in the garage so I'm thinking about selling her. I know I'm going to take a major hit, but may consider a dealer rather than do private sale. Anybody have a place between Santa Barbara & San Diego that might be fair? Also, any thoughts on what I might be able to sell it for? Designo Mystic White, FULLY loaded (ie. P30 option, distronic, parktronic, handsfree, panorama roof, keyless, active ventilated seats, etc), less than 13K miles. Thanks for your help...

Wow- this is the EXACT SL I wanted to get in a little over a year from now. Super nice and looks perfect. I have heard to stay clear from WI SImonson & Dealer I think in Van nuys. I've had a good exp with WI Simonson but nothing with the dealer in Van Nuys.
Good luck I say its worth around 70k- maybe more- just takes the right buyer to know the difference. Low miles and rare pkg.

Thank you. I LOVE this color combo & it was the only one I had seen with it. Most of the "White" colors had stone interior. Yikes! MSRP was over $163K... I hate depreciation!

you can walk away from it at the dealership for 62k (wholesale). maybe.
privately you can sell it for 65-66k (realistic retail). run an ad in autotrader and ... craigslist (believe it or not).

You know the dealers are going to stick it to you probably mid $50k's - $60k on the high side but I think if you sold it yourself it's a $70-75k car all day long (depending on how long you're willing to wait for your number).
I've bought and sold over 60 cars in the last 17 years and I've found the best places are autotrader.com, cars.com and definitely do an ebay auction if for no other reason then advertising. The quality of your pictures, the number of them and your description are going to sell the car. This is a VERY unique and beautiful SL and you should get ALL the money for it! It may take some time to get the right number for you and if you're not in it for the long haul then I'd say take it to a dealer..... Best of luck!

my favorite combo. i think anything with a 7 in it for an 07 may be unrealistic. That's an 08 number. And I think most people in the business are going to want to own it with a 5 in it--wait, I didin't say they could! Just a tough marketplace, with freshened cars out there and the 63 motor (which I don't prefer). I'm going to try to keep watching from afar, my 06 is supposed to go away at the end of the month, maybe you'll still be around. It's a beaut.

It appears as though you might already be negotiating? It's hard to take seriously someone who indicates they may be interested in the car and then gives an opinion of value?

I don't want to own it today. I don't want 2. Just saying that I have bought and sold a bunch of them, and letting you know what I have seen. And I believe that you haven't said it was for sale yet, right? In any event, no harm intended. Great looking car whether it's yours, mine, or someone else's!

im not sure if i can get a good deal on this. Dealer stay at the price of 52k OTD ( including tax). this baby has only 18k miles. Fully load , distronic, parktronic, active ventilated seats, panorama roof with sunshade, tire pressure monitoring system, bi xenon headlamps, keyless-go. please let me know as soon as possible. thanks

I wouldn't fire sale it. You have a unique color combo that unlike many is actually very desireable. Someone will pay up for it. Anyone can find a silver/black car, if they want a rare one they need to pay a premium and I would bet someone will. Like others said, put it on autotrader, cars.com and ebay. Also, you should put a price you are willing to sell for here so you won't get a bunch of 50k PM's.
