Consider the source

It's a "young boy racer" forum for the most part. They don't know that the SL55 will blow the doors off of the Honda{Acura}NSX.

It's a nice car, but apples & oranges! IMHO.

Heck, even my M5 has eaten two of them for lunch!

new balance
Obviously two different cars, but in a straight line I have taken a bunch of the earlier gen NSX's in the w210 E55, just imagine the w211 E55, lol

I previously owned a '97 NSX-T. Awesome car. Lots of fun. Fast; reasonably comfortable, great handler, drove almost telepathically.

Now the not so good news: great styling, but somewhat dated, very dated interior, felt like 4wheels...2seats...and an engine.

Definitely a different target than the SL, but you can't beat the SL comfort, style and that drop-top.

..would be nice to have both in the stable concurrently.

Name me one Japanese car that has a decent interior... and the NSX is bad even by Japan's lamentably low standards.

I was looking at the NSX at one point, but it would not fit my 6'3" frame - too bad. Had the same problem with Ferrari 355 and Porsche 928 at different points in my career! Couldn't fit in 'em even if I got the cash up!

My height was measured - standing and sitting - at a recent car clinic I participated in. People in Western countries are getting larger - both taller and heavier - and car manufacturers are having to compensate.

I'm 5-11 and the SL/355 are fine but I can imagine 6-3 would be a problem. Pity the Dutch too, who have the greatest average height of any nation.

There are a couple Japanese car interiors that should not be too quickly dismissed. My buddy has a 2002 Infiniti Q45 that (besides being a close copy of an S-Class) is very nice.

Here are a couple pics:

Well, all the luxury Japanese brands..... Lexus, Infinity, Acura and all their like cars made by their parent companies, Toyota, Nissan and Honda respectively.
