I'd tell them to get you the car you ordered....they can stuff the one in production...their problem, not yours!

Unhappy

I would make the dealer show you the Netstar invoice to see if it was the Factory or the dealer entered it wrong.

I would not take it without keyless go but thats just me.

I know someone that got a C32 AMG without a Sunroof he kept it but got some kind compensation.

I do not think I could go the summer without the car.

Maybe compensation would be best!

They have a few production spots open at all times for reasons like this. Iam afraid the one who screams the loudest gets the action.

You might discuss with the dealer the concept of his installing the keyless go equipment after the car arrives.

I think it would involve a lot of screwing around, since, among other things, the door handles and the gear selector would have to be changed, but my understanding is that the wiring harness has all the necessary connections available - they're just not hooked up and the radio receiver/contoller hasn't been installed. And getting the parts would undoubtedly take some time, but it's much better than dropping the whole idea.

I have the keyless go option in my car, and I like the convenience very much.

Mr. Real Canuk, i'd make sure they get the car with keyless go (its such an awesome thing! trust me) and they compensate you for the delay (is there is one)

don't make noise if you can get the car within a week of normal delivery if you get it with keyless go, if you were me i'd thank the dealer for making sure the right thing was done, but in the mean time, AMGBENZ is right, the loudest recieve the most attention.

Squeaky wheel gets the grease, How come I think that they are lying to u, how in the world can they tell u they forgot, is not the business they are in the car sales business, it does not take a rocket scientist to check off boxes on a computer. Make them show u the mistake then make them get u a car right away.

The problem is the liklihood that if you tell the dealer you won't take the car, he'll be delighted to keep it and sell it to someone else at a premium. Thus threats may be totally ineffective.

An alternative might be to ask the dealer to talk to a customer whose car is to be built in the near future, and see if that person would like to have your car now rather than waiting a couple of months. If you then took that person's production position, you might be able to specify the car exactly as you want it, and still get it for the summer.

No offense man but grab some *****... Who gives a flying flip about driving the SL55 this summer? Is it your pride, or image?

I cancelled my order the day the vehicle arrived at the dealership for the mere principle. I shouldn't have to beg someone to let me spend my money.

Think about it.. If you take delivery of the wrong vehicle, not only have they suckered you, but they are also laughing about it to everyone.

And, you are stuck with a vehicle you did not want. That situation at the dealership will be forever associated with the SL55 you own.

Technically they breached the contract as they did not deliver what you were promised in your sales contract.

They are at fault, so do something about it.

You are missing the point Mr. Xristo the SL55AMG is a car of passion and enjoyment for the driver/owner

I do not know why you buy your cars

You can't buy time!!

White Knight II's idea sounds like a good possibility.

You can get some results if you contact MBUSA by letter.

I would only do this if the dealer is not willing to help.

I am not missing the point.

You are correct, the SL55 is a car of passion and enjoyment for the driver/owner.

So how then can the owner enjoy, and be passionate about a vehicle that did not come the way he ordered?

That is the point. He order X and received Y...

The dealer breached the sales contract by not delivering what was signed for per the contract.

To accept the vehicle they "messed up" would be to overlook the error, and settle for something less than what you wanted, and for $130,000 the vehicle better be what I ordered, no exceptions.

well said amgbenz

as for the other dumb comments before that... are you living in the real world ?? its not like its the wrong car.. its just keyless go. obviously if i could get the car with it in a short time i would. i dont know about there, but to get another car here in canada would take over a year and there will probably be another car that i would want by than.

i was in the car business for 15 years and i know the manager at mercedes very well. it was an honest mistake done by the sales manager. to make up for it he is giving me 19" amg wheels in exchange for the turbines. the car is already on the boat and i should get it within a few weeks.

as amgbenz said... live for today... tomorrow may never come.

you guys are fast. by the time i reply there are more posts.

considering that many people are paying 20 k over list for a car that is in stock (not ordered the way they want) i have no complaints about taking the car that is almost exactly as ordered for sticker price.(which by the way is lower here than in usa)

Knowing that they are helping you changes my opinion as I did not have this information when I posted.

You are obiously satisfied, and that is all that matters. I was expressing my point of view based on a lack of knowledge as I did not know the dealer was being nice to you and offering something else to make up for their obvious error.

Live for today? Of course. If I were in the same situation and they were being jerks, I would have walked. If they were being helpful, and kind, I would not have walked.
