SL55 issues

I have put 2000 miles on my 2007 SL55 I bought a few months ago, had 5500 now about 7500, no issues until now. The car has been in the garage sitting for 5 days, bitter cold here. I go to start and the ABC malfuntion symbol comes on, when I switch menus the oil graphic is flashing on the left side display. I though maybe it was so cold but coming up to temp it still flashes. I tried to take the oil level but gave up after 10 minutes of observing waiting time, I took it two weeks ago and said normal. Do I need to take it to the dealer? After I turn off the car and restart the ABC malfunction is gone but shows on the left screen the history of it. Is the dealer required to give me a loaner car on the service visit and the car still has over a year warranty. Thanks for any help. Also the car raises and lowers normally.

ABC is a bugger...common issue for these cars...monitor it. if it keeps happening it could be a leak in a strut, or the ABC system itself somewhere...take it in and they can test it; may be as simple as flushing the fluid and filter or more expensive if they have to replace valve blocks or any struts...

Checking the engine oil has nothing to do with the ABC system. It is a completely different system. If your car is under warranty, let the dealer figure it out. There is no point in playing guessing games.

I agree the engine oil has nothing to do with the ABC, I had two different concerns. The flashing oil indicator was due to oil temp and is resolved after the oil temp comes up to temp. The ABC issue I will keep a monitor on but have read many have an occcasional light come on and is resolved after a restart and no problems, if the warning comes on again I will take it to the dealer, thanks for the help.

Was your SL sitting low on one side when the ABC malfunction light came on? I had an identical problem last year and my SL was sitting very low on driver's side rear. Took it to the dealership and they replaced the rear strut.

Visually it looked perfect and functioned well, so may be just a little quirky as others have reported, no evidence of fluid. I won't actually get to drive the car for a week or more due to weather. What a car, I can break the tires loose at 40-50 mph, solid as a rock build quality, this is the car that I always wanted.

You should take it to the dealer. I had no problem no lean or sag and my ABC light came on and said take to workshop or something like that. It only did it once. Im still under warranty so i took it in. The dealer said it set a code and they replaced a valve unit $$$$. and by the book had to flush the system and change the filters twice. Im sure glad it was still under warranty.

Porsche guy who drives SL63 w/ perf pkg AND perf suspension
I think it all has to do with the low temperatures. All the oils have hardened up and the sensors are seeing low or no pressures. Probibly no problems at all.

What is the policy on a courtsey vehicle when I take my SL in the MB dealership, I did not buy the SL from the dealer that will service it so I don't expect the red carpet treatment, but I'd like to know what to expect as far as a courtesy vehicle. Thanks

They will only give you a Mercedes "C" class for a loaner, but only if you bought the car at their dealership...at least that's been my experince here in SoCal. But for $20 they will put you in one, if you didn't buy from them...

lol in my experience it depends on the dealership and how cool your SA is...in one local dealer it's always a C class no matter what...at the other they had me in a cue for a C class, but when the turkel became available they asked me if i wanted to wait or get it...I said fine cause I was tired of waiting around...then they threw the turkel keys to me super quick lol and off I went! I didn't buy my car from either of these places...
