The second set of "turbos" you are seeing are external wastegates. Or maybe you are seeing the hot and cold side and thinking they are 2 different turbos. There is only a pair of turbos on the car from what I can see

does that style of bov recirculate? Isn't the stock setup more of a bypass valve than blow off valve?

alright alright...so many praises and accolades! I'll say it...lets see some numbers and performance data, both during tesitng and actual field data...ala Texas Mile results...

Soulsearcher has a great project and everyone is wowed by the engine and "earth spinning" ...and "I'm not worthy"...and "OMG" ...lol ...but I'm sure he too also wants to see the real performance, durability, and overall result of this build... proof in in the results not the "wow" factor of the engine...just sayin'

Best of luck to Soulsearcher he's a true enthusiast and has pushed the envelope for sure! Well done

Update/teaser: 25 psi before 3500 rpm. Turbos flow enough to support 1000RWHP.

I was just about to pull the trigger on another tuner....and then this.......

stock set up is a true diverter (VS. BOV). I think (I think) no oem design may use a BOV that vents into the atmosphere due to noise regulation but mostly because the ecu will not be aware of the venting (and thus not subtract that air volume) and allow a momentary rich condition when plates are closed.

These things take time....especially since Soulsearcher and his team are pioneering some pretty dramatic custom mods for a very logistically "difficult" MB platform. I for one am glad that we get updates along the way. The #'s will come when the many many tweaks are done. I wouldn't want them to feel rushed in any way....or resent how people may come across as impatient...especially when those "impatient" people have nothing invested in this except for a rooting interest.

soulsearcher,

The lean condition you speak of is only possible on MAF based cars, not MAP based ones. When pressure is ventilated after the MAF, it is correct that the ECU cannot see that loss of airflow. A MAP can, however.

Diverter valves are used in modern day MAP cars (such as the SL) for any number of reasons, noise being one.

Just a clarification

Best of luck to you on your project. You've got a good guy working on it, I've known Marcin for quite a few years.

Thx Marcus. Learned something new.

Just got of the phone. At almost 14 PSI got 620 whp on a dynodynamics (Arguably the same conversions as Mustangs) so probably 670 whp on dynojet (I know the fur will fly on this conversion). keep in mind what a stock sl600 does @ 14 psi on a dynojet.

These turbos can handle 30 but we are not going there. Not sure how high we'll go but depending on octane (100 vs MS109), we may push 21-24.
My understanding is on a TT setup for 300CID+ motors, breathing right WITH efficient turbos (This is not in stone), each psi equates to 17-26 whp. So you do the math if you agree with these projections.

Running Friday. Its the slowest. Sat n Sun will have 200 cars lined up on one runway. I may run Sat if I can handle 1.5 hour waits per run.

SUPER CARS EXPOSED will be filming a special supercar shootout at the Texas Mile. Got called about including my car but I passed. Did not want my car put thru brutal testing by Tanner. (Tests would have included not just the mile but braking, autocross, 0-60, braking etc...). I like my car too much to hand it over to a stranger. Some of you may disagree but my car is an extension of my family

You want numbers...As of last night (Late), we hit 735 rwhp on dynodynamics so 920 X (whatever you think dynodynamics/mustangs to dynojet conversion is). I say at least 7% (or more) above that on a dynojet so we are at 1000 HP

By the way.....we are only at 21psi.

The V12 platform is Forged I believe, not to mention very efficient. I have seen some people squeeze 800 Hp on a stock bottom end out of the P-cars. Almost half the displacement and 6 cyl less.
