I would get brushed aluminum face, with black accent window, and chrome lip. Staggered of course, with deeeeeeeep lip in the rear. Exactly like this picture:

Well, honestly, I like the ride compliance of the 18" stockers, and the 19's I had on my E500 definitely stiffened the ride a bit, but 20's seem to be the preferred size on the SLs. You can get an 11" out back with 20's which will give you roughly a 1 mile deep lip.
Seems that 20's are easier to resell when it comes time too, so I'm leaning towards the dubs right now, as much as I think the ride will suffer.
That said, I just got off the phone with my favorite wheel distributor, and these bad boys might be out of my price range. **Sigh**

If you are patient you can usually find what you want used on this website or ebay. I just bought a similar setup like new on Ebay for my SL65. Staggered 20's with deep lip from renntech.

Looking at $5500 wit tires. I think time frame on getting those wheels is about 3-4 weeks. I was about to get them but not worth it. Be careful cause 20s change the whole ride. I'd say go with 19s to be safe. 18s are always best

That's a really nice wheel...
a Vossen Forged. Any 20" forged wheel setup is not going to be cheap, but $5500 with tires doesn't sound too out of line. I'm quite sure there will be someone beating down your door shortly wanting to do it for 5499, 5498, etc.
And get the 20's. You will wich you had if you get the 19's. The ride quality is not appreciably harder if you get the proper tire (read: don't cheap out on tires).

+ 1 on the 20's. Also think you would always wonder what you were
missing if you went smaller. Dubs look great.
Besides this isn't your dd so sacrificing a little comfort for style isn't such a hard trade off.

Beautiful looking wheel, don't know if my back could take the ride.
Please post your comments on the ride before I need a new set of 19's.

Also looking at these, but with brushed aluminum face rather than the chrome. I'll stay with the black center 2 spokes as well as black rivets.

Back to the drawing board....
These in matte black centers with polished lip and chrome fasteners. Or, just as pictured with brushed centers and polished lip.

Well, the deal has been made.
It ended being none of the above. I'm taking a design and doing just a touch of custom coloring. Should have them within 2 weeks as they were an in stock set. And I got a great deal because they were just sitting. Just need to add my personal touches and assemble. Details to come....
