Widest tire mounted to front of an SL?

Was wondering what the widest tire anyone knows of being moutned to the front of an SL (I have an SL600). I plan on using a 305/30/20 rear and was looking at a 275/20 front to balance out tire diameter issues and improve braking. I want taller profile tires so I'm not bending my wheels on LA crap roads while also improving ride quality over bumps.

I now use taller profile tires 245/35/20 Front - 285/30/20 Rear, since all 4 of my wheels were slightly bent from using 25 series tires on LA roads.

My Michelin PS2 245/35/20 front tires messure 9.8" wide x 26.8" tall and my Michelin PS2 285/30/20 rear tires messure 11.4" wide x 26.9" tall and I have no rubbing during hard driving.

Most guys use 255/30/20 front tires which messure 10.2" wide x 26.1" tall. I think these are the widest to go on the front as some guys report slight rubbing on a bolt.
