How much is my car worth?
Guys, I have a question. I will potentially be selling my car in the next few months and am curious as to how much it is still worth. Here are the details.
* 2003 SL55 with 54k miles
* Has one year left on the extended warranty through Chrysler
* Is silver with charcoal interior and dark piano wood trim
* 20" iForged wheels (mint condition) and tires with 60% life left
* Has all options except 030 and distronic.
* Excellent condition inside and out but not perfect. Very clean.
Let me know what you think is the best price I can get for this car.
Thanks.

The number is going to start with a 3 no matter where you take it. Private Party you might a be able to get somewhere in the low $40's with the right buyer.

That's actually what I was thinking it would be worth. between $38-40K. By the way, the warranty has worked great. Haven't used it in a while but it has paid out about $3k so far in repairs. Not one hassle from MB dealer collecting.

This car is an 04 with 27k miles... basically same options/color
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...%3AMEWAX%3AVRI
If i were you I would sell your wheels seperatly.
Btw this is the 3rd relisting for this car.. bid hasn't gotten above 32k.
Also with the low miles on this car, the warranty can be had for $3k.. and thats a 3 yr 45k warranty.
Anything on autotrader above 40 for an 03-04.. doesn't get sold. I've been watching for a couple months.

InTheBenz0--just a heads up on that car, the VMI states it just had a valve cover gasket and engine control unit replaced at 25k miles. Other than that the VMI looks pretty good. As with any AMG, I would highly recommend a warranty.

Here are the auction values for 04 SL55's. Remember they have to pay $500 auction fee plus transportation and other fee's as well. Ad another 1k to these prices. THEN mark them up for retail sale prices.

E 63S Wagon Renntech, E55 Renntech, SL65, SL 55 030, ML, bunch of old ones--they come, they go...
Friend, no insult intended....
but a few months is like a few years in the car biz. All you can do is watch ebay (usually bottom feeders) Autotrader (some really nice cars, many very average ones) and ask a friend to keep an eye on MMR. The expensive ones are dropping so fast, it's almost hard to tell what effect they are having on the bottom side of the market. With the freshened 09 the most recent thing out, and around $25k off with a few miles, it's just hard to keep up. Lots of cars to buy out there if you want to spend 35 or 75, but not a lot of nice ones in between. Good luck...

Guys, I have a question. I will potentially be selling my car in the next few months and am curious as to how much it is still worth. Here are the details.
* 2003 SL55 with 54k miles
Thanks.

condition. Your miles are against you but you do have warranty so I reckon
between 40 and 50k usd.

I think the OP has plenty of feedback on his question so I won't bother with my .02....
Instead I'll throw out my opinion on this:
I had a Chrysler warranty on my recently sold E55 wagon and had to have the rear shocks replaced under warranty and based on my one and only experience I wouldn't hesitate to buy another warranty from them. No questions, quick pay to the dealer and done! Even the dealer service writer was impressed with how effortless the transaction with Chrysler was.....

in my opinion, sell the iforged wheels. Put on stockers (this should net you $2k +-)
Keep the warranty for new owner...
List it for $34k with warranty and take anything above 32k
There are cars with 30-40k miles (granted no warranty) but warranty is $3k for a 3 yr unlimited mile warranty...
They can't get above 31k on bids and ones listed at 33-34k are getting relisted over and over..
Market sucks. Period.

SL55 AMG
I think you should def sell off anything on the car that's considered not stock...even if you have to trade it in this will help you recoup as more than otherwise...that said, prepare for a heavy loss, these cars MB and AMG cars are really hurting in used sales value....it's surely a buyers market out there. If I were you I'd just keep it and enjoy it...they're great cars to drive, bad cars to sell lol
