Hmm why didn't you UPDATE this thread that you NOW HAVE A TUNE etc? It obviously changes everything I commented on, we ALL thought you were STOCK as described in the begining of this thread
I found this post of yours over on Luxury4Play... I erased my post, I'm not the ONLY person who thought you were STILL 100% showroom stock as you decribed in your 1st post..

I thought I had posted that, but going back through it looks like I hadn't. Yes, it has an ecu tune and the stock intercooler pump crapped out, so it has an aftermarket intercooler pump also.

1st run on pump gas - 11.75@121.62 1.88 60FT
2nd run on pump gas - 11.93@123.42 1.95 60 FT
Put in 2 gallons of 109 octane gas.....
1st run on 109 octane - 11.87@125.31 1.97 60 FT
2nd run on 109 octane - 11.63@127.84 1.94 60 FT
3rd run on 109 octane - 11.59@128.39 1.96 60 FT
4th run on 109 octane - 11.52@128.98 1.94 60 FT
MPH kept going up with every run. Should have ran a few more.......

2005 SL65 w/RENNtech Stage 2, 2013 MB GL550
What are you running for tires?
What are you running for tires? Also how are you handling the whole shot? What RPM are you launching at? I have a 2005 SL65 with RennTech Stage 2 and I just smoke my tires and they're the biggest I can get on the 20 inch rimms. What else have you done to your car? Very nice times.

No, it's not tuned for race gas.
I had no idea 109 octane gas would make this much of a difference in this car......it's unreal.
I took this car to the Texas Mile last month and it ran 173 mph with pump gas. I can't wait to take it again in March and use 109 octane gas this time.....I'll bet it will do over 180 mph.....

What RPM am I launching at? I just mash the accelerator pedal down and let the traction control do it's thing......ALL of these runs are with traction contol ON.
Nothing else done to car that I haven't already mentioned......

I find the runs with added race gas very interesting. there have been tons of threads about running race gas. some like me, think it helps even if you are not tuned for it. Most state that it is worthless unless you are tuned for it. I am guessing your SL is tuned for 93 and look at the difference in performance when a little 109 is mixed in.
Is race gas only good for turbos? I don't know, but I will continue to run a bit of race gas in my SC car on track days.
