It's taking too long and we still don't have enough people so I think I will stick with my painted grill for now.

Let me know what you guys think or if you're interested.
I could very well be interested!
There's just a couple of "buts" there;
I have the 2007 SL65, so then this grill will not fit, right..?
The strange part though, is that I have the 4 slats grill today..??!

Does that mean that my hood at some point has been exchanged, or what..?
Or how big are the differences between 2006 & 2007, in terms of hood/grill..?

If "we" just can figure out if this CF one with 3 slats fits my car, I'm in...

The hood is the same for 03-08. The bumper was changed for 07+ with the 3 slats grill. I'd guess either your car was built in 06 or the previous owner changed it. Either way, if you have the 4 slats grill now this grill will fit your car.

the way I see it...3 slats better than 4, 2 better then 3, and 1 better than 2 lol! ... I think I like the single slat w/ mesh...looks like a nice style.

Yes, my car was built in 2006, but it is definetly a 2007 model.
There are to many updates between those two years, for not being a 2007;
Gear paddles, roof button, electric bootlid.
Plus the things that are "easier" to change;
Rear lights & front bumper of course.
And on top of that, code 807.
So it's definetly a 2007.

But, I don't get this. At all.
How can it be the same hood all the way to 2008, without having the both grills (3 AND 4 slats) fitting..??
In other words, how come the CF-grill in this "group buy" be for models between 2003 and 2006 only, when you are saying that the hood is the same until 2008..?
Because the grill is mounted in the hood, you know.
I'm veeeery confident there.

If you open your hood you will see that the grill is not mounted in the hood. The 4 slats one sits a little lower and the 3 slats one sits a little higher but the top is the same. For example if you put an 07 grill on a car with 06 bumper you'll have a little gap between the grill and the bumper.

Sounds
Since the closest thing above the bumper is; THE HOOD!
There is a piece of hood (about an inch) between the grill and bumper...

But OK, as long as it's the same hood, I'll make it fit somehow...
Thanks!
So count me in as well!
3 slats & Distronic star, that is.

Ps. How does the list come along, btw..?

Just disregard my comment there, will you please..!
Had a complete melt down or something, since;
The grill is NOT mounted in the hood at all!
Must have mixed it up with the old 129'er, or something...
Embarrassing, to say the least!

I would ONLY be interested if it was NON-Distronic. (Majority of cars out there) Looks better too! imho Come-on DO-EET!

I agree 100% - NON-Distronic with mesh behind the star.

Hmmm, I now see why DCT wants to do the distronic, MUCH easier to build than the three dimentional star area...bummer

I am interested in one with the 3 slat and distronic. Does the star come with the
glass front cover?
