removing front grill

Help please - I am looking to update the front grill on my 04 SL55 - I removed the top 4 retaining bolts in the engine bay but I could not see how to unfasten whatever clips (if any) are holding the bottom of the grill to the top of the bumper. Can anyone who has taken the grill off please advise how to do it efficiently as I don't want to force it off in an incorrect way and damage something. Thanks

Just push in on the bottom of the grill and it will unsnap from the bumper cover tabs (two).

Many thanks BeltFedBob! I gave it a good shove at the bottom at both sides and that did the trick.

I have a facelift post 2006 3 fin OEM chrome lipped grill which I have now put in securing it at the top with the 4 screws. As other posters have said in other threads, when you install the new shape grill there is a gap at the bottom as the facelift bumper is about an inch higher than the original shape. So the bottom of the new grill is at the moment unsecured.

I read in earlier posts that it is possible to use clips at the bottom to secure the facelift 3 slat 2006 grill to an original shape bumper - has anyone done this and if so any advice on the best methods to ensure it is a safe fit?
