I think I wont let her go (Pictures of my SL55)
I posted up on autotrader and also on this forum to sell the car, I wrote 40K firm and still had calls with people low balling me, I drove the car today after taking the cover of from her winter sleep, and took some pictures. I'm tired of selling a car that is perfect and having people shoot me dealer or wholesale prices, I don't think I can replace her with something more beautiful.

Thank You guys, the honest truth is that if I did sell (which I wont anymore) I would have went and got a C6 Z06 or a SRT10 Viper. I'm trying to still wrap my mind around on why I wanted to do that.

really, from that to a C6 or a Viper?I don't know the stats, they might be faster but what a downgrade in my opinion.

Money wise I'm doing good, this car does not give me any money issues at all. I want to keep going with the car, I like the clean look so I don't want to put a bunch of useless crap on the car, I think a nice carbon steering wheel and interior would be the next thing to do.

i had a c6 before my sl55, the mb us ust a better car, the vieets are faster, but its not the same.
i thought about selling mine, but my buddy at the dealer brings up a good point, what do i upgrade to?? this is it!

There are a couple of cars that I would like more than my SL55...I like the 911TT in terms of power and tunability, Lambo Murci just for it's looks and style BUT I don't think the porsche looks as good and the Murci wouldn't be as good of a driver as the 230 body MB...that's just it many cars can be faster or better in some specific way...what the R230 does is a LOT of things very well...(1) looks incredible (2) is very vary fast and can be made to supercar performance (3) offers top down PLUS coupe driving experience (4) classy without being prententious

I agree with you guys, I came out of a 770RWHP Z06 when I went into this car. I lost my Z06 in an accident, and was without a car for about 2 weeks when I pulled my trigger on the SL. I wanted another vette but did not want to buy a car that would be a money pit again to spend endless thousands just to go fast. This car has both speed and style. I guess I'm gona focus on some wheels and interior, and keep it there for now.

This is one of the first cars I have NO plans on selling ( i usually go through cars every 1-2 years). I would sell for an 07 tho =)
BUt regardless, it has everything, blows 98% of cars out there away, rims and drop make it look real exotic, top up and down cant be beat. Yes its not a full sports car, or a sedan, or that practical- whatever its in the middle.
If you can afford to keep it and buy your sports car that is the way to go.

I agree w/ your decision 100% . Theirs plenty of A**holes out their who want something
for nothing . Ultra low ball offers from people w/out a dollar in their wallet .

I go up and down about selling mine, but I bought mine new and the depreciation makes it a keeper. After all, there really is nothing that compares to the looks, performance and usability of the SL55.
I had it out a few weekends ago with some of my Ferrari buddies and ran away from them. You gotta love the whole package. Plus there is some more power that is just ready to be let loose!
