Official SL55 Long Tube Header release
After making some minor modifications to the existing 55k long tube header. I'm happy to announce the release of the SL55 long tube header.
Header materials used in the other 55k and 55NA are used in the SL55 headers. materials include 321 US stainless steel flanges and 304 US stainless steel primary's and merge collectors.
Kit includes:
Headers
Gaskets
test pipes
vband clamps
Our test car, came to us as a repeat Dyno-Comp/Renntech customer. This SL55 was previously equipped with RENNtech stage 1 on it. (168mm pulley and tune).
As seen in the dyno graph below, This car had some flow issues from the stock manifolds. You can see this at redline where the power tapers off. The MBH/DC long tube header seemed to alleviate the top end bottle necking issues on this car.
The basic design of the header remained the same, However below is a quick picture of one of the header header alterations needed to make this header work. Picture shown is in an unfinished form.
