SL65 AMG “End of Production Announcement”
No more SL65...

That's terrible.... The SL65 was an incredibly amazing car.... a true power car.

I wonder if that means the CL65 and S65 are going away too....

If they are having homologation issues, it is probably the reason. Definitely one of the most entertaining engines to tune.

Tragic... Truly amazing cars. I hope the SL doesn't vanish all together into something resembling a lexus like the W212's. Can't wait to see what's next for the AMG platform.

I'm glad that at least some models are keeping the 65 engine

There was a rumor going around that they may stuff the 65 engine in the W212 for an E65 model? I guess this may not happen after hearing this news about the SL65

Well,in the end the E63 will end up with an even better engine,the new 5.5 V8 TT with 7 speed tranny,much ,much better mileage and almost 200 lbs lower weight over the front wheels.
That car will be a monster considering that the torque (with optional performance package) will be almost on par with S65.

I read that they decided against the name change and will keep the CL name. Anyone know if there is a new v12 in the works?

Any source for the new 65 engine? I know they mentioned 275/35 R 20 and 325/30 R 20 on the new S63 with the new M157 in private lounge. I wonder what the new 65 will come with.
