BRAKE Problem

Its been sunny and 75 in Cleveland since I brought my SL55 in for service on Monday.

In the left screen it lights up red when I open the door it says "BRAKE" In the right screen it lights up red and says "braking distance may be reduced visit workshop" then it flashes and says " ESP Deactivated" The ABS light stays on who knows it must be a computer or sensor problem.

Anyone else with this symptom?

No word yet from service department

I got the Exact same problem on my SL55(500 miles) and took it to the shop and i took about 2-3 days to get a new chip i think for the Senstronic brake system (SBC (i think). Brakes work fine now. When the problem occured I could notice that only the front brakes only worked.

I had the same problem, but it took the shop in Corpus Christi 6 weeks to fix it.

Picked up the SL55 last night all is good with the brakes, they put a new chip module in for the SBC system just like G-baby SL55.

Thanks for the help.

I still have one other issue when I have a full tank of gas the car makes a crazy sound behind the seats sounds like tin rattle. The bad thing is I brought the car to the dealer on empty and the sound was gone now they think Iam crazy. I got the car home last night and the sound was gone untill I filled up the tank it was back. Any ideas?

Thanks,
AMGBENZ

Search for "baffles" ...

...in either SL55 or Sl500 forums but weren't earlier models plagued with sloshing noises in the fuel tank and recalled to replace it with an improved fuel tank, ie., more baffles?

I can't seem to locate it but there is a thread, (i did a search and i couldn't find anything) which has all the problems you might have in your R230, we printed that out and showed it to our dealer and they fixed (what could be fixed) all those problems. I advise you to try that, but be warned, they should NOT keep the car for longer than 2 weeks. They didn't for us!
