SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: SL63 Wide Body Kits ??

SL63 Wide Body Kits ??
So I've had the SL63 (2009) for a whole month and of course my mind is wandering over to mods... I was going to order the Brabus front/rear/side skirt package but then I saw some of the "wide body" or" Black Series" look kits that are available.
I've researched them online and came up with 4 so far that looked nice (to me at least).
INDEN Design

ZER Custom

Prior Design

TC Concepts

My question is has anyone had any experience with a these kits and am I killing the resale on the car??
The guys I'm working with here in NY have another concern. Their quote, "A massive change in wheel track width creates increased leverage on the suspension. None of these packages offer an increased spring rate or recommended wheel offset. It seems these kits are fully focused on form and neglect function".
Appreciate your comments and advice!

Vitt is a mercedes specialist for wide body kits, you can def check them out and I know that Jonari in california imports them from japan. their kits for the SL is pretty sick, especially their new one, check it out

you'd be amazed how sick some of them are (even if you find them ugly)
best of luck!

oh and as for the functionality you might just have to consider replacing your suspension parts to deal with the extra track width, i'm no professional by any means but i'm sure your local shops can find a solution, try to ask more performance-oriented shops rather than cosmetics. hope this helps!

Still looking for a MBW forum member who's actually done this to their car?

haha yep! definitely more options man, and if you have the time and money you could always visit a more professional body shop and get a custom one-off kit
i doubt you'll find another member who's actually put a widebody kit on their SL...for practicality purposes anyway, but i wish you luck!

Hate to be the guinea pig on this but then again...it's really a hot look!

Another great example of what's out there...amazing stuff!
So for now, I've decided to do this in two phases: performance stuff first and some minor interior cosmetics while I figure out which body kit to go with.
Let the games begin!

oh by the way, there's always WALD you could consider. I saw on their news feed that they're making black bison sports line for the facelifted SL (though it's not widebody) but it does look pretty menacing
best of luck!

Did the stealth thing for a while with the E55 Brabus and it was a lot of fun (God how I miss that SC). Thought I'd go over to the dark side with the SL and see how that feels...
BTW Brabus has very little for the SL63 in way of performance. Their B63S kit consists of ECU flash, 2x exhaust downpipes, 2x 200 cell high flow metal cats and CF airbox. It will set you back $17K not including Labor...and for all that you get 30 additional HP!

i THINK kleemann was going to release something better for the higher end 63's but not quite sure..
did u get a chance to check out the wald kit? not sure if you would like it but i find it pretty sweet, iv seen a local shop mod an S63 and a CL65 with the kit, looks pretty sweet in person.

if i were to do anything it would be the sarona...i think i read somewhere that for 40k they do the pre facelift to post conversion with the widebody, rims and paint. maybe for you it would be cheaper as you dont need the headlights and housings redone...i think marios13 does this stuff even though he claims to not be the guy that owns the shop...seems like he does quite a bit of advertising though

I keep thinking I would be super happy to just have the stock sl63 body on my 05, but these kits are pretty impressive. I think that all of them look good aside from that squalo one, that looks like it belongs on something japanese, it just doesn't flow quite right on a german car
