sounds like its well tuned
Sounds like its got an x-pipe, the car is in Japan so little chance of finding out..but i would give my left nut to have my SL sound just like it.

Do you know how easy it is man. Long tube headers, x pipe, no cats, resonator delete and straight pipes. That is doscile coming from the cobra crowd, lol.

I dont know chawk, i would hate to spend 5k on my exhaust and not have that high quality sound like the car in the videos. You dont hear any exhaust popping at the end of the cars full throttle runs so im thinking that car still has the secondary cats and resonators. I would like to do my exhaust once and be happy with the end result.

Hell ya man get some LT's and you'll be right there. Take your pick, there's a ton out there... Hooley makes some great guarantees on power and his headers sound BOSS

If you dont want popping go with what I mentioned and for mufflers run their regular straight through mufflers, NOT the magnapacks. If you dont like that setup I will pay for your system myself![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I plan to run longtubes on mine eliminating both cats and leaving everything else in place for that quiet muscular sound. The kicker will be that I will install electric cut outs right after the headers so when I want to be loud and obnoxious I can just hit a button in the console and open up for OPEN HEADERS.

Im going to go with the long tubes from MBH and find out what his setup consists of, sounds good to me..."install electric cut outs right after the headers" thats what I call cherry on top...I LIKE IT!! Cant wait to do the neighbor test, if they stop waving hello then id say it was a success ;-)

This is the response from the owner of the SL55 in the vids from first post
"this system is hand made by the master of exhaust system in Japan.
racing catalyzer(150 cell) is a set."
Master of exhaust systems...hmmmm...kind of like MBH AKA "hooleyboy"

Djeezes, I don't like my Eisenmann anymore...That sound is amazing. It has a little Ferrari, a bit of Lambo & Aston...WOW !!! I feel...

That looks like a pretty complete setup. I wonder how much it runs?
Also I would love to know what something like that would sound like on a 65 which Im considering swapping out to in the next few months... Id love to get a bit of a V12 scream

Looks amazing, I would like to know if this system could be duplicated here in the States. Not sure about the SL65 but its much easier to free up the exhaust on the 65 due to turbo's restrictive nature to exhaust note.

SL55 AMG
wow that sounds realy nice...I figured he has high flow cats, figured 150 - 200 cel varients, Japan has high emmsions restriction regulations.
Any idea what mufflers he is using? I'd like to know that part of the puzzle.
