I don't think they're the absolute best wheels for the SL, but mine are 3pc Savini Forged SV8 with matte black connecting hardware and matte black windows on the inner spokes. I'm constantly getting compliments on them, so it seems people like them. I like them a lot, but if money were no object, I'd probably get a different set. The D2 line look amazing and I think the Carlsson Ultralight 1/16 on the previous page look outstanding!

I always liked what this guy did with his SL500, for a different look. I think these are VIP Modular VR01's

Although I think a 5 spoke or split 5 spoke looks amazing on the SL, and is probably my favorite...the Renntech Monolite is killer as is the Carlson UL 1/16 - but those must be a ***** to keep clean!

I was thinking about getting my wheels anodized that BMW black chrome color or anthricite (gunmetal) on a silver car that would look good...as they are right now they look great when they are spotless and polished up nicely, but in a naked polished finish they are hard to keep clean!!!

CF wrap ofer alum with clearcoat has been done many times before...looks good but it's not true carbon...so it's still the same weight and performance of an Aluminum wheel...

Wasn't evosport pumping some cf wheels for the clk63 black? From my understanding they were really light and mucho $$$.

The Carlsson 1/16s on my car aren't that bad to maintain. The only part that makes it a ***** is the fact that OEM MB brake pads dust so much, so they need cleaned quite often with regular driving. I recently had all 4 wheels straightened, polished and recleared (~$2300 to do this) and all they really need is a bit of soap and water.

A friend of mine uses PBR pads, they don't 'shed' nearly as much and they seem to work pretty well

That's good to know. I may have to look into getting some new pads then.

the brake dust is part of the reason that I am thinking I will enjoy the satin black wheels, they won't show anywhere near the brake dust, speaking of new wheels, anyone want some stock 5 spoke 18's on michelin pilot sports, have about 4500 on the tires, most of which has been highway.

Thanks for the prompt response! Love the wheels. I will contact Bobby if I am in the market. Did you blacken the inner barrel (or would you recommend this)?

I am pretty sure I had too many windows open and posted in the wrong thread, of all of these wheels pictured, who is running staggered fit, what size of tires are you using and have you had any ride/handling/rubbing issues

yeah i was wondering about your orignal post lol ...I'm running 19x8.5 on 245/35-19 and 19x10.5 on 285/30-19 (however I think 295 or 305 would be better on the rear, 295 is ideal on a 10.5" wheel)

Car performs very well, it's a staggered fitment...no issues whatsoever with ride, handling, or rubbing...I think my next tire setup will be 255 front and 295 or 305 rear.
