That is terrible, great that you are walking away from this in one piece. if you are removing any savageable parts before they take it away the phone cradle if available i would like to purchase. I am truly sorry to see a well kept vehicle destroyed by careless people that always want to outdo a SL everytime we are on the road. I guess they want to race against the best.

well the scum bag who cut me off actually left the scene, i ended up goin off the road and into some parked car.
that in my winshield is actually a metal fender.
i rolled twice according to the cops and struck about 4 cars parked on a road where the speed limit is 45, so i was probably at 50 and some change. i didnt wake up till the next day in the hospital. i got some cuts in my face, broke my jaw (got a metal plate now) and lost some teeth.
a car is replaceable but no that one, it can be replaced with something else i guess. i cant find a RED SL if my life depended on it in NY.
thank god i am standing, all bones in tact with the exception of my jaw. mercedes deff saved my life.
Now the big question, will i go for another SL. probably not. i loved the 55 and mine i got with 28K miles, but she wasnt reliable, she had a few issues here n there n i didnt have warrantee. and my CL600 is also giving me problems, costly ones. so im kinda scared now that business is slow i dont want that kinda liabilty with another mercedes. the insurance is forking up 39000 for my baby, i do have the wheels and are for sale, VERY cheap. im trying to buy her back from the insurance n maybe parting her out. we will see

Man i was trying to imagine how you got hit so hard just inside of driver' quarter panel, but after you explained the events, yes you are blessed and fortunate, providence and mercedes were working together. My school buddy died in 1987 under same conditions, he had a benz but chose to drive some economy car that night. get well soon and if you get parts i want the phone cradle v60s
