I have heard horror stories from people having cars transported. does anyone have any great experiences with a company they would recommend?

Where are you located, and where are you shipping to?

This company, is contracted by MBUSA, to transport the SLR, Maybach, And SLS. Also Ferrari, Maserati, & Lotus use them as well.

Good one! I have heard of this company. Someone also recommended InterCity.

Horseless quoted over $2200. Doesn't that seem expensive?

Well, I'm not sure if the quote sounds high, as you never stated where you are shipping from/to...just remember, you get what you pay for. I've dealt with Horseless Carriage and know they are very meticulous.

Sounds slightly high, but remember, they are located on the east coast.

I am waiting for a quote from InterCity.

I spoke with someone a high end car dealer recommended and his quote was $1,200, but he contracts out the job which really SCARES me!

That is pretty expensive. I used to pay 900$ from Intercity to go from Long Island to Canada from Intercity.

I had poor service from Sunday. Both the driver n home office was less than average. I have used another company since then and have been satisfied. They haul only 2 cars at a time. not sure if this is for your car or you are in the car selling business.

I have had great results using Exotic Car Transport out of Orlando.

Horseless Carriage
Reliable Auto Carriers(Big orange trucks)
Intercity
Fedex Passport

I would only ever use one of these. I have used Reliable to haul my SEMA car from San Fran to Chicago, and had to specify a liftgate truck since it had a 2" ride height at the time. Have nothing but good things to say about them.

$2200 is pretty much double what you should be paying. I just had my Challenge Stradale shipped enclosed from Chicago to PHX for $1200.

E 63S Wagon Renntech, E55 Renntech, SL65, SL 55 030, ML, bunch of old ones--they come, they go...
I have used....

FedEx Passport on numerous occasions, with excellent results. They don't have quite as much flash as Horseless Carriage and Intercity, but always on time and honest about delivery (which is absolutely against the norm in the trucking business).

RECOMMENDED ENCLOSED CARRIERS

I CAN ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND RELIABLE CARRIERS. THEY JUST TRANSPORTED MY SL65 AND RESTORED CORVETTE FROM DALLAS TO TAMPA THIS MONTH (AUGUST 2010). I HAVE FRIENDS THAT HAVE ALSO USED THEM WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. YOUR PRICE QUOTE IS VERY HIGH.

I used Schilli Specialized Transport to haul my R500 from San Diego to Maryland a couple years back. I paid 1000.00, for enclosed transport and everything worked out just fine.

I have used Inter City to both buy and sell cars. They have been extremely good and delivered on both ends with the cars in perfect condition.
If I am not mistaken they are the company that Barrett Jackson uses to transport cars.
