Helpful post, thank you.

Is removal of the shifter knob/boot the same for keyless go equipped cars?

keyless go shifter removal is pretty much same as regular shifter

Thanks for your response. I had read the keyless go shifter thread in the past and specifically wanted to avoid breaking/bending/ruining the pins.

In rereading the thread now, I think I'm still confused the best approach to prevent breakage.

Your instructions explain to be sure the pins are all the way into the holes before tightening, but don't cover how to safely remove the shifter/button without damaging the pins.

Could you (or anyone) clarify that part so I can save myself the soldering solution headache part

Thanks!

Is not that complicated!
1 pull up the boot
2 release the nut at the bottom (clockwise, as I remember)
3 pull the whole shifter knob straight up
DONE~

Excellent info thnx for sharing! Q: All that has to come off to replace/take off the (2) small wood door strips??

Lastly I want this Suede/Alacantara shifter boot cover (I have Keyless-Go 2005 if matters?) How much? Availability? Thank you!

I know it is huge effort to remove just those 2 wood trims, but if you don't do it and try to pull off the trims with force from outside, all these small rings will fall off and rattling within your door panel
Also, you can not put the new trims back without those rings

Hello, I have a couple of quick questions, this may be off the topic but I'm having problem with my shifter. Since you are the professional in this type of job. I am hoping you can help me. My shifter is stuck in "Park" how can I remove the panel on my center console? Is is possible to remove the panel w/o shifting the gear from park to neutral? Your reply is very much appreciated. Thank you and have a good day.
