Thanks for the divx tip...works now!
Depends on what you mean by faster...the 55 was .4 slower at 200kph
but was 2.7kph faster through the slalom...the 55 is more agile...the 600 has a touch more grunt
the 55 is still my choice

I cannot seem to download part 2 of the four. It gets me to video-on-demand site, and I do not know hwat is going on. Is there a chance that someone can post a direct link to the 2nd part. I have a feeling that it will work once i have that, since that is the last piece that I need (apparently you need to have downloaded all four of them in order to play the video. Any help in this regard is appreciated.

Watched the clip and interestingly enough, even though the SL600 0-200 mark was better by 4/10 of a second, the moderator named the SL55 was "sporty" winner of the comparison.
In short, this comparison reiterated many opinions voiced on the forum already; the SL600 is a great car, but the quiet and somewhat unexciting engine sound, coupled with the smooth acceleration and softer suspension invites drivers to drive more casually while the sound and stiffer suspension in the SL55 encourages to push it and let 'er rip![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Since the cars cost about the same money in Europe, neither is the "top of the line" in terms of money or prestige. It simply is a choice of having about the same performance in packages catering to different customer demographics.
With no surprise, the SL600 unlike the SL55 is not offered with any option to remove the 155 mph governor.

SL 55 is a sports car that competes with the best sports cars, Ferrari, Porsche, etc. The SL 600 is a very fast luxo-cruiser two seater. Don't sweat the 0.4sec 0-120. A friend of mine has a Porshe Turbo and between the 2 cars, I would rather drive the SL 55 everyday.
