i get an error saying i dont have the required volume when using winrar beta. Even when i try to use Winrar, it opens up in Winmediaplayer and i get the great volume these guys did. Any suggestions?

It seems to be the video comes in four parts...when you extract one you extract all four. I was able to do it successfully on one of the other videos...the SL 55 Private (8 parts)....the same video that is on the AMG club site....but this one I cannot get the video...only audio...hope some one can figure it out...I am very curious.

You need to use Windows media player to play the file successfully. Use winrar to extract the file to the desktop and open using winmedia player. preferably media player 9, which you should be able to download from windows.com.

Do none of you see the video or has someone seen it?

I've downloaded all four parts - downloaded Winrar - and extracted everything.

Running on Media Player 9.

Problem is, mediaplayer looks for a Codec that it says it can;t find - hence it only plays the audio.

At this point, we need a geek to advise us!

Try the Divx Codec

If that doesn't work then try the Nimo Codec pack be warned though some people have problem with this codec pack when playing videos. I however had no problems with it

This is too frustrating! I am trying to watch this video by downloading everyhtingh that is being talked about here. No result, always something else is needed? Is there any chance that we can get this video any other way, in which it can be seen? Or at least, someone post a step by step procedure that is needed for the siccessful viewing of this video. I want to see this so bad.

Till then, Bilal, can you comment on the video itself? Colors of teh cars, which was consudered the better one, a little commentary please? We are waiting, and will be grateful

those four "DOWNLOAD" graphics are the four parts of the video. right click and "Save Target As..." on each of the files.

whether or not you can view this video format is an exercise left for another post :-)

Well, I was able to watch it, and surprisingly, I wasn't too excited about the clip itself. First of all, I had no idea what was going on, since it wasn't in English, and secondly, the show wasn't made to be exciting as others shows make them, such as Top Gear and so forth. It's a pretty good video to watch though, since for me the I've always wanted to see the two cars side by side. Basically what happens in the video is that the two cars are driven in a nice bendy road tha seems to be somehwere in the sibirbs, and then they show you the differences of the two cars, such as the tacho and the bodywork, and also the meat, the engine. After that they take it through a slalom course. Personally, it seemed like the SL600 had more bodyroll that the SL55 AMG, which I think is somehwat obvious, since the SL55 AMG is supposed to be much more sporty than the 600. What confused me though, was that I thought they both used the same type of suspension. Maybe the person who is constantly talking in the background mentioned this in the clip, but couldn't understand a word he was saying.

On a technical note, the latest version of DivX from DivX.com should be able to do the trick for those of you who are struggling to see the video. I know that's what I have on my computer, and I didn't have any problems. Other than that, I really don't know what o tell you. Oh, my friend just suggested this, and he says that you might be able to solve the problem if you are albe to get the universal codec incoder(?).

Haven't been able to watch the clip but the ABC suspension on the two cars are calibrated differently. Both are ABC (Active Body Control), but they are still spring based systems, so you will have different springs and different ABC programming to manage body roll, stiffness and ride height.

Things i noticed....AMG in german sounds like "I am gay".

I basically just went to divx.com and downloaded the free divx503 bundle. I just double clicked on it and it extracted itself. Then i double clicked on the video and it played in Windows media player. I wasnt expecting it to play, but it did.

On another note, did anyone notice that the SL600 BEAT the SL55 to 200km/hr!?!?!?!? Im very disappointed that the SL600 is faster than the SL55.

When I was in S. Africa, several magazines tested both and the sl600 won that round as well.
