Finally here! Adrock's SL65 AMG!!
Finally, after much debate, search, more debate, and all sorts of unpredicted delays, hold-ups, and hassles - the new ride has finally arrived!!
FIRST and FOREMOST!
BIG BIG BIG Thank you to Trung Pham [TGP Transport] (SpEeDxXxRaCeR - Supraforums SN) for his patience, help, temp tags, and excellent transport of the vehicle. I would not hesitate to recommend his services for transport (open or closed) of any vehicle for the SF guys. Thank you again, personally, and I certainly owe you a beer or several for the multiple rescheduled transport times.
Second BIG BIG Thank you to Ryan Hawkins (RSA Supra - on SF) for his help in checking out/taking pictures/test driving the car prior to purchase. Hoping to see you and say thanks in person at TX meet this year.
Also thank you to SupraFan55, DrDJDESI, Alpha, Jay/Philly Single, and all the contributors to my other thread (http://supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=583976) prior to purchase. I ended up with the SL65 AMG with extended warranty (full coverage) till 11/2013 due to your help/input.
That said: Here's the car!
604 HP/ 738 Lbs Tq (hard to stick on most roads )
Black/Charcoal
Parktronic/Voicetronic/Dystronic Cruise/Panoramic Roof/Navi/Sat Radio/Alcantara roof/Ventilated and heated massage seats/etc.
39k miles/2005
Clear Bra, blackened trim/grills, K40 radar, 20" AMG style wheels, Muffler Delete
To be installed:
HID fogs, LED running lights, new HID bulbs (all to match), Smarttop roof control module, carbon trim (gf likes the wood, but I love CF), few other goodies.
Having full paint treatment and detail done shortly.
Excuse the quick cell phone pics:
Plans for the car may include ECU/TCU with cooling upgrades (if warranty coverage and driving conditions will permit), Change of wheels (black centers likely down the road), lowering (if I can still get it up my steep driveway), small rear AMG trunk spoiler, may change to high flow cat and upgrade exhaust piping, etc.
Adrock's back to being a happy guy!!
-Could anyone help in making me a sig?

I think Supraforums just has a bit more active membership (and I'm better known in that community after 9-10 years now and being part of administration there) in offering overall help. I didn't want to repost old, answered questions here as the new guy and response time/total count seemed a bit less overall. That said - I really do appreciate you guys taking the time to post informative help.
Motivations on here for a black SL65 are def AMGFan, therickter, Benzorama, Nikelin, and Marcus Frost's awesome vehicles. I'm so happy to join the club and can't wait to get the car finished up to my ideal specs!

Completely forgot - Marcus Frost (supraforums and MBworld member) was also of great help in perspective on the SL65 model, helping me assess the history of the car, and other details.

Congratulations on the beautiful ride and welcome!!!
Also, smart thinking on the warranty..
You will fit right in..
Us Ex-Supra drivers usually do...
Some pics of my sold 97TT 6spd.. The SL is a MUCH nicer car. Of course my Supra was nearly a full-out race car. I don't miss it too much though (got tired of wrenching on it all the time).

Nik nice supra. The SL is a great car but man a built supra is just plain mean. One of my fav fun drivers back in the day, but anytime you have something built up to a high degree it's more of a chance of things breaking you're right. The Supra and the RX-7 were the cars to have for a long run, and epic rivals...good times back then!

Nick - I knew I liked you - ha!
I had a custom built (frame up) 97 Supra with a 74mm turbo, built head, AEM, 740whp car (with the same hood as you in final form)!
Album for my old supra

Car was in the Fast and the Furious 2, on MTV, couple other public appearances. I sure do miss her

Great choice! Ping me when you're looking for wheels. I
might be able to help. And wait until you see the car after paint correction. Whoa, Nelly!
Can't wait to see 1/4 mile numbers.

^Same me! Beautiful Supra. I think I do recall exchanging some messages during the build time. All this Supra talk makes me miss mine, but driving the SL65 certainly helps curb the desire.
How are you enjoying the swap to AMG?

Looking forward to the sound clip...have been thinking about sorting out a DP / exhaust setup on the S65.

hey Adam, NICE!!!! Great choice of car,I can't wait to watch your build up. While not much can replace a built Supra like you had but you'll have fun with it! And since I saw you on here recently I have decided to try to finish my Supra after a LONG hibernation!
P.S. look carefully there are ALOT of former or current SF members here LOL!!

What size and offset are the rims on the black SL? They look nice and have that deep offset look.
