TPMS and xenon headlight question
My tire pressure message is on, dealer says one of the sensors is bad, does anyone know a place where to buy it cheaper? Is any brand besides OEm ok?
Passenger headlight sometimes stops working, when I shut off the car and restart it comes on, its an intermittent problem what can it be? I was told the control module. Is the balast same thing?

The tpms sensors are about $100 ea at allmercedes , and on a 03 car they are all at their life expectancy.
You can play around with the ballast but they cost about $1200 so you better get it diagnoised first
You can call Hendricks Mercedes and ask for Joey, he gives %15

I went through this few months ago.
TireRack is the way to go, if they send you the right ones it should be trivial. In my case we had initially a mishap, they send my sensors made by VDO where my car needed BERU.
I think '05 was a bit tricky because that's when they changed mfg, so I'm pretty sure the tech on Tire Rack (you'll have to call them on the phone, don't try doing it online) will ship you the right ones.
If you want to be certain, take one wheel off, remove the tire and look at the engraving of the model/mfg.
Once you get the set (buy all 4 of them), any decent tire shop can install them ($100-$200).
Once they are on, fill them up to the right pressure (driver door badge) when the tires are COLD.
Then just go through the menus on the steering wheel and press reset on the PSI menu, it would ask you to say Y and start driving the car. It took me 20 minutes / 10 miles for the car to detect the new ones.

Is there a good HID kit out there as an alternative to spending over $1000 for new ballast or xenon module? I've read up on a few kits like vvme or hidextra and seemed most were successful with the install and results.
What do you suggest?

Have you determined the ballast is bad? If you are sure, you need to determine if the stock unit can be removed and what it will take to sub a different unit in to it. And also if it will set off the light bulb out warning sensor.
After that, any one will be ok.
