sl chrome key part number?

I never had a second key for my 2005 sl600, and the dealer said they don't make a new style chrome one that will work with keyless go. I have read on here and benzworld that there is a key works just like the old ugly black ones but costs a bit more. If anyone has the part number or their dealer knows what they are talking about, please let me know.

E55 then E63, now back to an E55
The new one will 100% work with keyless go, it just needs to be programmed. Sorry I don't have part number.
I am surprised Husker Motor Group isn't more with the program on this (they usually are.) Tell them you know differently. I have personally done this about 8 times.
Good luck

I told them that I had heard that one works, and I wouldn't be likely to buy from them because I worked there at one point and hate them all with a passion. I will probably go through Mercedes of Omaha as they are in the autogroup I work for and get it for cost. the other key was going to be 170 I think.

new keys will not work with keyless go vehicles that used the key card to work with the key - R230 from '03 until '06 I believe. I am not sure if they will work with the cars that had the keyless go in the key iteself (the black keys) versus when MB switched over to the chome keys for all vehicles.

So will it work with keyless go? What key do you need to order?

Here's what I know: if you order a key with a 07+ part number, you it will not work with pre-07 Keyless Go, no matter how hard you try. Traditional keyless entry and keyed start will work.

Dealer hearsay (unconfirmed): if you order a key with a pre-07 part number, they will send you a new-style chrome key.

If you're using Keyless Go, no one ever sees the key anyway. So, no need to go chrome for that, as the black key is both lighter and smaller.
