Price Rises
May 1 sees the price of an SL500 going up from £67790 to £69615 in the UK, 2.69%. An SL55 goes up from £89040 to £91345, 2.59%.
The UK Pound has declined against the Euro over the last year which makes the cars more expensive to import. The US is not immune either, because the decline of the dollar has been similar, so it's reasonable to expect the prices for the new model year in the US will be hiked similarly. The focus on model years doesn't exist in the UK to the same extent, so that's probably why they've hiked our prices now.
Why the Euro is so strong is tough to understand when the two biggest economies which use it - Germany and France - are in deep do-do's.
