Dipstick and chart for SL65
It looks like MB has a dipstick to measure engine oil for the SL65. It appears the part number is 275-589-00-21-00. I can't seem to find, however, the documentation or chart for reading the dipstick. Anyone know where I can find this? And if I am wrong about the part number, please let me know. Thanks.

I've never heard of a dipstick failure, MB electronics certainly can not make the same claim. I asked my dealer about a dipstick....I was blown off. They just sell cars. I called MBUSA looking for a dipstick. MBUSA gave myriad explanations for the lack of a dipstick......yet there's a dipstick tube present.
I'd love to have a dipstick.....can anybody help???

TRY EBAY! There was someone repeatedly listing the V12 dipstick.
I had exactly the same issue with my SL65...
The dealer refused to sell me the " special tool" AKA dipstick. The dip stick "tool" has numerous marks in mm for all of the MB cars so you need to figure out the correct V12 marks...
Finally I got them to order the " special tool" and I received a trans dipstick (Morons)..
The trans dip stick is about 2-4 inches too long but it does work! I had the dealer confirm that the engine oil was totally full... I inserted the trans dipstick until I found the plastic full mark covered with oil and used a cable tie on the stick to mark the exact spot at the top of the tube. It is not original but does the job perfectly!
I have seen the V12 tool listed on Ebay several times but mine works fine so I did not buy one...

SL65 Oil Dip Stick
FYI -
Call Kevin at 215-933-1157 for your car. Have VIN # ready.
2008 SL65 9qts Max w/filter change @ 74mm - 8qts min @ 56mm
This is from bottom of dip stick that reached the bottom of pan.
Oil Filter for 2008 is #2751800009
Oil drain seal for drain plug #007603012110
Any "Flex Stick" for oil or transmission can be used to measure to the correct level from the bottom of oil pan mm's.
2006 you can get a dip stick that will stay in engine. 2007-on only has to be measured from bottom of pan.
Please call Kevin at 215-933-1157 for any questions or information. He was great for me. Also Keenan Motors owns www.benzpartsforless.com
Hope this helps. I was just as frustrated as all of you until I found Kevin.
