The dealer refused to sell me the " special tool" AKA dipstick. The dip stick "tool" has numerous marks in mm for all of the MB cars so you need to figure out the correct V12 marks...
Finally I got them to order the " special tool" and I received a trans dipstick (Morons)
.. The trans dip stick is about 2-4 inches too long but it does work! I had the dealer confirm that the engine oil was totally full... I inserted the trans dipstick until I found the plastic full mark covered with oil and used a cable tie on the stick to mark the exact spot at the top of the tube. It is not original but does the job perfectly
!I have seen the V12 tool listed on Ebay several times but mine works fine so I did not buy one...
Call Kevin at 215-933-1157 for your car. Have VIN # ready.
2008 SL65 9qts Max w/filter change @ 74mm - 8qts min @ 56mm
This is from bottom of dip stick that reached the bottom of pan.
Oil Filter for 2008 is #2751800009
Oil drain seal for drain plug #007603012110
Any "Flex Stick" for oil or transmission can be used to measure to the correct level from the bottom of oil pan mm's.
2006 you can get a dip stick that will stay in engine. 2007-on only has to be measured from bottom of pan.
Please call Kevin at 215-933-1157 for any questions or information. He was great for me. Also Keenan Motors owns www.benzpartsforless.com
Hope this helps. I was just as frustrated as all of you until I found Kevin.
