2005 SL65 w/RENNtech Stage 2, 2013 MB GL550
Im replacing front brake pads and rotors on my 2005 SL 65.

Has anyone ever come up with an after market pad so as to lesson the brake dust without giving up stopping power? I figure this is the best time to do it.
Thanks,

Anyone with first hand experience with EBC red stuff? Sounds worth a try, but would love to hear on brake performance, efficacy of the bed in procedure, dust, and lifespan?

I put them on my daughter's. Range Rover Sport that is equipped with Brembo brakes as standard equipment. Bedding is fairly easy, stopping power is about the same BUT they dusted about the same as the stock pads(bad) and wore poorly. I would not recommend. On the other hand I have used both Akebonos and Porterfields and would highly recommend both.

+1 on Evosport rotors. It's amazing how much reducing unsprung mass improves the car.

+1 also on Akebono pads. Less dust but also a bit less bite. Evosport recommends them got their rotors.

Thanks,
I have EBC Redstuff on my SL55 AMG for a year and I'm really happy. Low dust, good braking power!

SL 65 Rotors

I haven't been able to source any aftermarket rotors for the SL 65..............best price I have been able to secure was on a close-out for the price of $ 688.00 each versus $ 988 list each..........from two different dealers that only had one rotor each in stock........totally lucky timing on that....

Yeah I'll say. Other than swapping to a Brembo package, all we have are the stock rotors for replacements.

I have used and recommended EBC reds on every car I own now.

I would have had them on my S600 but summit sent me the wrong pads

Couldn't wait another two weeks so bought some local.

EBC Reds are a GREAT pad that are track worthy.

Low dust, and do not squeal, IF they are bedded properly.

Good luck.
