SL 55 AMG Supercharger Clutch Bearing Replacement
Hi Folks,
Reading that a lot of us are experiencing issues with squeaks and bearing failures from our superchargers. I have been advised by Fletcher Jones MBZ parts the replacement cost of the bearing flange for my worn out part is in excess of $1,400 - just for the flange!
I read elsewhere on this forum that this bearing part is available for the C32AMG model cars. That original part number is 32BD45DUM1, the replacement part for it is 32BD45-A-1T12DDUCG21. The original part specs are 32mm Inside Diameter X 55mm Outside and 23mm thick. This part costs just $20.00 and is readily available from a bearing parts store in Austin, TX.
My long winded question is "Will this part also fit my SL 55?"
If not, does anybody happen to know the specs or original part number of the original bearing on the car? Or even, dare I ask a replacement part number?!
Twenty bucks and a bearing press seems like a far better result than the dealer alternative.
Your kind assistance is much appreciated!
