Awesome work bud!! how did you drop from a PB of 11.5 to 11.1 that's fantastic...did you have perfect track condtions, more power mods, or the use of drag radials? or some of all of the above...of course you know how to drive the cr very well but in Dec you were having traction issues with the temps and grip... what did you do or add or change for those nice gains?

Congrats again bro you deserve it

My old PB was 11.40. Since then, I've changed ECU tuners, added a TCU tune an finally put a set of DRs on her.

Also, we had negative 1000ft D/A all day yesterday.

Video of one of my runs. Not the quickest one, but very close.

Mad props brother! Love seeing you set, then break your goals!! Much needed respect & booting a long time standing SL600 record by (1) of the Curry brothers, that was on Dragtimes for a few years..

Thanks gents.

Some of the other wicked rides that were there. It was a small, invite only rental. We only had 7 cars. I took these pics before Jamie Furman showed up in his red ZR1

Sweet runs Clayton, especially in a heavy SL. I don't think a lot of the "E" guys realize how heavy an SL is.

Phhbbtt... No you wont All you'll need is to lease a new C63 add a few CF lightweight bodyparts & basic bolt-ons = 4000lbs w/driver & 460 odd rwhp & Waalaa' 10.87 @ 131.46 mph ALL day long brutha!

It demolishes fully modded, Professionally built Evosport's CLK63 AMG Black Series that weighs 100's lbs less & made FULL 500 rwhp, yet could only manage low 11's @ 126+ mph in N/A form.

VS.. This Devastating NEW Secret combo Yes folks come 1 come all!! See this physics defying lightly modded 4000 lb C63 run even FASTER than Jamie Furman's past C6 Z06 3200 lbs w/Driver only trapped 130 mph vs this C63 Phenom trapping 131.46

EDIT: I don't approve of this message

Congrats, specific reason why you didnt leave under boost instead of just flat punch off the line?

Yup. Quite simply, I wanted to be able to drive the car home.

A tuned V12TT produces over 700lb-ft, and sometimes 800lb-ft of torque and the axles aren't really happy about that. A lot of people that race this platform, snap axles like they're toothpicks.

I did launch a few time at ~1500-1800 rpm, and was able to cut some 60's in the 1.67 range.

I figured but, isnt it worth the risk (cost) to run a 10.xx even once? Your mph has a 10.80 written all over it

Not being a drag racer, I was wondering why there was no wheel spin off the line. I know too much is no good, but I thought some was better than none.

Probably, but I was skeert. There was another race there, swapping his axle at the track, and that'll make you a bit gun shy.

I needed almost 2 full tenths, which means I needed a full tenth off my 60', to hit 10s. In order for me to get a 1.59-1.63 60', I'd have to launch her pretty darn hard.

I'm gonna go about getting in the 10s a different way. Instead of beating the car up at the line, I'm going to do it with IAT control, so the car doesn't pull timing on the big end. Hopefully, I'll see 10.99 one day.

I wasn't running street tires. I was running something called drag radials. They allow you to launch with zero wheel spin, because of their sticky composition.

If I were to launch, even from idle, on street tires, I'd smoke em for the first 1000 feet.

So you have the traction control off and just floor it at the green light with no torque braking?

As a road racer, I was thinking you guys used slicks, but I see these tires have tread patterns. Is this so they don't go so sideways at launch and because you are only going in a straight line?

the drag radials have grooves in them, similar to a DOT-R used on a road course (hoosier, toyo etc...) ...they do not serve much of a purpose except for DOT approval standards for street allowable tires.
