Saying goodbye to the V12tt....
Today the shipping company came and picked up the SL65. It was probably one of the best cars I have ever driven with the combination of power and comfort, there is just nothing like it. IMO the SL65 & 600 are the best overall cars hands down... Very few cars can give you the comfort for a DD, the V12tt power (especially the tq from the 65 motor) for those special days, the hardtop covertible for sunny days, and the amazing looks, all in one package.
Until these last few months, the car was "mostly" problem free but after Mercedes would only fix 1/4 of the problems with this car, it was time to sell it. I will say, Mercedes of Miami has some terrible service. The SL has been in the shop about every other week, and the issues have still not been fixed. The car was brought in for service around 20 times. Some issues could have been prevented but the car was not taken care of very well (it was one of my sister and brother-in-laws car so there was only so much I could do to keep the car in good health )
So last week I listed the car for sale (2005 SL65 w/ 47k miles for $44,500) and it was sold to a dealership in chicago (I'll post link when they list the car) for below asking price, but that was ok. So now the fam is left with the C63 as the only AMG!!
The car to replace the SL will be either a panamera, maserati, or S63. Anyone got any opinions on the choice?
P.S. If anyone needs help on choosing an SL, I would be happy to help! Don't be afraid of the V12tt "issues" because its not applicable to all of them. My father has an SL600 in amazing condition, and it still drives like the first day he got it.
Mercedes V12TT FTW!!!

Water pump went bad twice, bushings had to be replaced, roof motor went bad, continuous motor issues that now the car just didn't drive the same .. There were other little things going wrong like the parking sensors, constant check engine light etc.
I put most blame on Mercedes of Miami because they would take the car in and not fix anything. This was the main reason it wasn't worth keeping the car.

Well ended up choosing the panamera s last thursday. The interior beat out every other car. Doesn't have anywhere near the same kinda power as the S65 or turbo, but well see how long this last for lol...
Its white w/ blue interior with the factory white wheels. I forget about pics but here are a few I just took (sucks cuz its dark...)

Congratulations. Always tough to bail on a car as great as thew SL65 (mine was hit and run) but when the stars aren't aligning reliability wise it is the wise decision.
The Panams drive really well. Sure, the power is down but 400 is still nothing to sneeze at and it'll make up the time thought the curves.

Thanks guys! Yea maybe later the wheels will end up just being powdercoated black, shouldn't take too long for the white on white to grow old
Yea gotta get used to not having 738 torque at the press of a pedal... The start/stop function seems like it'll take a little time to get used to also but it is a pretty nice feature

THE PANAMERA WAS THE 3RD FASTEST CAR ON TOP GEAR!
I was AMAZED to see a 4 door sedan IE Porsche Panamera Turbo be the 3rd fastest car on a tight track on Top Gear and just slightly behind the Viper ACR and the Monster Lambo!
What is unbelievable is that some ones Grandpa can blow the doors off just about any ultra exotic car in his sedan while driving Grandma and the kids on the way to church...
No question that the S65/CL65 and big Beemers are super fast but the Panamera also handles amazingly well!
Porsche... There is "NO SUBSTITUTE"
Never more true statement!
