Thanks for the positive feedback guys. I also appreciate the criticisms and will try to address them soon.

Winning!!!! LoL jackpro1

It's still a work in progress and is far being done... The old front lower cover doesn't fit with the new front end. So, we had to order that piece.

We'll get everything sorted out before I take the car to the track. I'm looking forward to seeing what it will run stock.

This car located in OC? My buddy was telling me about a SL65 conversion that was going in effect. Should hit up Cars & Coffee when weather warms up - never enough Benzos there.

Yes, Irvine to be exact. Haven't been to cars and coffee in awhile. Kris wants to take the 65 next weekend. So, we'll probably be out there with a few cars.

Any of you guys remember this car? Vegastrashed E63 back in 2008. One of the cleanest looking 63 imo.

Looks awesome, I especially love the interior mods. Not so sure about the wheels though. Nice job!

meh, prefer the older front end, don't like the wheels or the carbon fiber.

but the quality of the work looks good.

I appreciate the kind words. Tips hat... What do you like about the old front end better then the new one?

Some people proffer the look of wood. This particular color didn't go with the direction of the project. So, it had to go. Also the camera flash makes the carbon weave come out much brighter in pictures. In person it's more subtle and flows well with the interior.

Thanks for your input.

Is it as "easy" as swapping and painting the new body panels or was there more chop-chop involved?

Clean job...!

As far as the panels are concerned, they bolted right up. However, there was some adjustment time to align the gaps perfectly. Thankfully there was no cutting involved. It just took a few days to identify all the parts and figure out where they go. Thanks Steve! I appreciate the compliment.

you asked for unbiased opinions so here it goes..

craftmanship: looks like excellent work. the lines and everything including the paint look very oem.

wheels: look like complete ****. the car itself is VERY aggressive looking now, the wheels definitely dont follow the body in terms of "evilness." there are several murdered out members but the ones that come to mind are marcus frost and i believe amgfan. both have black sl's and are menacing with the rolling stock and stance. as another member said, i would also look into getting the undertray so that you cant see through the grille.

interior: great mod with the cf. now you just need the steering wheel and youre set. going forward, imo, i would start doing the cf bits on the outside to match the inside. things like the lip, the front insert on the bumper, the diffuser would all just set it off.

overall: again, the execution of the project is perfect. imo, change the wheels and its a done deal.

Thanks for you feedback! I appreciate your kind words and honesty. The wheels were not my first choice as Ive already mentioned in the first post. It was of necessity and time constraints. It's the rivets that bother me the most... We already had the tires so finding a temporary set of wheels to get the car back on the road was an easy decision to make.

It's a tall order to ask my buddy to drop more dough on the car right now. I'm going to give him time to let everything sink in before doing anymore modding.

Other then a DCT motorsports 2010 SL65 steering wheel with carbon. There isn't anything more you can do to improve the interior imo.

No more carbon bits on the outside of the car. I think the spoiler is enough. I want to keep a clean and aggressive look. The car already gets a lot of attention and I like the 65's in stock form.

Ive looked around and haven't seen a lip for the newer 65 front end yet. I would consider one if it was subtle and flowed with the rest of the body. I really like the matte silver front lip. It's really noticeable in person and helps to distinguish the 65.

What wheels do you suggest?

I might be able to get some that look like these

Get this color. I think it's called graphite grey

This is the color contrast I want. (I really like these wheels too)

What do you think?
