Time to get new rear tires on S65 - what would you get
What would you get:
PS3's (PS2s just spun like crazy on my old E55, only Mickey Thompsons stuck ALL the time with 650 rwtq)
PZero Neros
R888 (not sure if these need to be heated to 220F to really stick as they seem like road racing tires, not designed for street like MTs, BFG DRs)
Nitto 555s
What else should i consider
(don't like the stock Continentials)
I drive the car 5K miles/year on weekends and NEVER in the rain.
doesn't seem that there is anything really good for 20s like BFG DR's.
Also would 285s 30/20s fit fine (stock is 275 35/20s)

I like my triple nickels. Ran Toyo's, BF, Falken, and Pirelli performance tires and have def been happy with Nitto Your wheels are at least 10in wide..?..so I don't see why you shouldn't be able to fit a 285.

I have to check on that, the rims may just be 9.5 inches wide, which i think means i need to stick with the stock size of 275/35/20. Will check out the 555s for sure, thanks!

9.5 accepts 285 quite well. There is a noticable cornering improvements with the PS 2/3 but are pricey if you drive them hard.

Nito 555's stick well, but were a little more $ than I wanted to spend. Now I'm running Falken FK452 (on a budget, as I drive 20,000 plus, hard miles a year) and love them! I chicken out (back off) on hard sweeping corners before the tires even make any noise! I recently hit a pothole so hard, it put a small flat spot on my 20", one piece front wheel, but the tire made it through just fine. With a 285/30/20, I did notice a reduction in "off the line torque", but I think with a lowered car, the 305/25/20 would ride extreamly harsh over bumps.. my 2 cnts
