Already search, found one or two, but no many... can you please post your videos of resonator and 2nd cat delete on your sl55! Does it the exhaust sound good as the cls55?

Thanks in advance!

Headers (EvoSport shorty) and no secondaries, but still have the resonator. The little flip doesn't pick up the sound that well either. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wd3Tfq2JlG0&NR=1

I have straight pipes in place of the rear cat but still have the resonator? makes a noticeable sound difference - but nothing like a full exhaust would compare to.

That sounds SWEET! Not too loud, just a nice roar. Removing that resonator would probably make it louder? Thats what I want to hear, stock headers, 2nd cat delete, resonator delete...

I know the cls55 sound REALLY good with this done. Is the SL compareable?

Thanks man. I do think the res delete would make it just a bit louder. i like the sound level of my car. It is just slightly louder at light throttle and not really noticeable at freeway cruising speeds. It is noticeably louder and more throaty under WOT.

Not sure about the CLS55, but assume it would be similar.

Deleting the resonator would defiantly make it louder as thats what the cls55/63/c63 guys do, and it sounds perfect. Some add h pipe or x pipe... but it all depends on what your looking for.

I say do it! Than post videos asap lol

That sounds BAD ***! Exactly sound I want lol, looks like I need some headers now... Do you have any clips before the headers?

Reason why Im asking all this is, I just aquired some sl55 mufflers, going to install them on my e55 I wanted to do the more simpler route of finding cls55 or cls63 mufflers, but so darn hard to come by... On the plus side I hear the sl55 mufflers are pretty light compared to the cls55.

I forgot to answer your question. The exhaust on a CLS55 with the same mods as me sounds better. I think the SL55 mufflers have more insulation in them vs the CLS55. I'm a bit scared to remove my secondary cats along with my set up. making my car cat catless w/res-deletes. I think its going to want to drone if I do that. Its one of those things thats holding me back from playing the "lets try this" game. What I mean by that is... If I do make the choice to try a new muffler out (even one we hand make)... What if drones or dosen't sound as good? Its going to take me a while with production of headers to get my car back in for changes.

I personally like the sound of my car, but its not on a level that I like the sound of the CLS55 or 63. You can get anything to sound great on the outside, but if the drone is crushing your skull on the inside. It makes it hard to live with.

Thanks! I have my 2nd cats and resonator removed, once I have the mufflers on Ill make a video... I bet it will drone a little bit...

Is it a good idea to add an H or X pipe in the system for balance, rather than straight pipes? There are tons n tons of topics about this, but no one seems to have a proper answer, and no one seems to know about position of the x or h pipe...

I just removed my resonators only today. Didn't notice much difference at idle, but everything above that sounds much better, about perfect for what I wanted. Well worth the $75 cost. No video yet, maybe later.

I think the sun has been known to shine three or four days in September just before winter starts again. Just joking.

My perspective is that of an old Puget Sound (Bremerton) guy. I think the weather is generally similar in Vancouver. You should start seeing some nice days come May. Late summer is truly beautiful (August, September). People in the Northwest seem to embrace sunny days like nowhere else I have ever been. A sunny day is like a holiday.

Must be tough having come for the sunny Gold Coast.

Yeah I know what you mean the slightest bit of sun and every single convertible in Vancouver has the top down even if its only 8 degrees! - Mate you have no idea it is 28-30 degrees celcius for 90% of the year on Gold Coast - truly amazing. But it doesn't have the scenery of Vancouver - its spectacular.
