2003 SL55 AMG
FS: 2003 SL55 AMG $35,000 OBO

2003 SL55 AMG
All options except Distronic cruise.
Black Opal paint
45,xxx miles
Newer Falken FK 452 tires (~5k miles)
Approx. 5k miles on new pads and rotors (all OEM parts)
20" Carlsson Ultralight 1/16 wheels
Carlsson exhaust (catback only)
Johnson CM30 IC pump
3M carbon fiber vinyl wrap on interior (light wood underneath)
K&N air filters

Only issue with car is the TPM warning because there are no sensors in the wheels, but I have a brand new set that will be included with the car. I also have the nav cds for the factory navigation. If buyer is interested, I also have an SDS clone system available that can be negotiated with the car as well as an MB service DVD. I have two keys and the keyless-go card. One of the keys is the newer chrome style. Car is located in Oakdale, CT and is financed through Navy Federal Credit Union. PM me for more info or specific pictures.

Repairs/maintenance performed since I bought the car in August 2009 (34k miles):

Johnson CM30 pump to replace dead MB pump (~$200, DIY)
Replaced Secondary Air injection pump and relay (~$795, DIY)
Replaced motor mounts, tranny mount, thrust arm balljoints, lower ball joints ($2427, Ind. shop)
Replaced trunk struts ($160, DIY)
Replaced B-pillar flap drive casing with updated MB part due to originals bowing and not engaging (~$60, DIY)
Replaced rear window side trim pieces ($110, DIY)
Service B and front pads + rotors ~40k miles ($1658 at MB Houston, TX)
Replaced front bumper center mesh grill + retaining clips ($341, DIY)
Replaced oil cooler ($230, DIY)
Replaced passenger door handle due to keyless-go button falling off ($236, DIY)
Replaced trunk latch mechanism due to leak ($320, DIY)
Replaced rear pads and rotors ($228, DIY)
Replaced supercharger drive belt ($~50, DIY)
Purchased new serpentine belt, not installed but included with car ($26)
Refinish all four wheels ($2,112, Wheel Warehouse Dayton, OH)
Purchased four new TPM sensors (~$400)
Installed K&N air filters ($110, DIY)
Replaced airbag sensor connectors under both seats that were causing SRS light (Free, due to dealer screw up :-), DIY)
Brake fluid flush ($233, Ross Motor Cars - MB dealership)
New tires (~$1400, DIY)
New accessory battery in trunk - Interstate battery ($300, DIY)
New single slat grill, original included ($200, DIY)
Clear front marker lights, not installed but included ($50)
37% HP Quantum window tint (~$300, Tint shop in HI)
Replaced 3rd brake light due to crack ($150, DIY)

Total spent: $12,096 (unless I fat fingered my calculator)
I have receipts for the majority of the parts/work, but not all.

I can't imagine what else the car could need in the near future, because I think I have fixed/replaced everything. I have never had a single issue with the ABC suspension either, no warnings, leaks, or settling of car. I can rodeo the car with the SDS clone to show proper operation, and besides it looks cool and is fun to do. I can also run the self tests on all other systems in the car. The only fault that shows is with the Telematic system (MB On-Star type thing). Not sure what is up with it, but I don't pay for it and therefore don't use it or care about it.

I've never had an issue with the ABC pump. To answer your question about it being a daily driver, yes, but only in the warmer months. Driving it in snow is not a good idea. I've only had to do it once and I'm not in a hurry to do it again.

The car is haunting me. Its just beautiful. Why are you selling it? I have 2 convertibles ( an S2000 and a 89 ferrari) so I don't need another summer car. I was looking for a daily driver, but here in the NE ( I'm in Berkshire co Mass) we have that white stuff which I cannot always avoid ( I do have a 4 wheel drive truck for those PLANNED snow outings). I'm in New Haven Sat AM, maybe I can swing by. What's your phone #

The reason I'm selling it is that I recently bought my first house and this car consumes a large part of my budget that could be used for house projects. I'm not quite ready to part with my Ducati, so I decided to sell the car.

Someone asked about the condition of the seats, so here are some pictures. The drivers seat is the only one showing wear. There are no rips or tears, just some slight scuffs from getting in and out. With a good professional cleaning, I'm willing to bet that some of the scuffs will disappear.

That's all the way down. I put the factory links on it a while back when I replaced the tires. With the lowering links installed, it made the camber situation worse and the tires were shot on the inside after about 6k miles.

It has Ohio plates because I'm in the navy and from Ohio. That's where it was registered before I transferred to CT.

Whoa, I just ran to my garage to make sure my car was still there! Whoever ordered the car has excellent taste. Black Opal SL55 AMG with light gray interior, carbon trim, aftermarket front grill, etc. all great choices ;-)

What is the name and city of the dealership where you traded? Maybe I can get a good deal from them.

Oh NO!

I wish I had seen your add prior.... I would have like to have made you an offer.
Called the dealership today and they said that you still owned the car but was signing it over today.
If the deal falls through or you'd like a little more $$$ send me you phone number.
Thanks
