Too much like new SLK.
IMHO the "face lift" would be a negative for the SL as it would pull it down to look like the soon to be updated SLK. Well at least it should pump up sales of the 2004 model with its more desirable styling. (As an aside, it has been my experience that Canadian Mercedes buyers get earlier and more accurate information than we do in the US where Montvale must have some type of disinformation department.

I don't think anyone doubts that the car gets a facelift; all Mercedes' get a midlife update.

The question is how the car will look like. So far, there are absolutely no spypics or accurate information. That image is questionable at best.

One point about model years that causes a lot of confusion on these boards. They are almost always european model years. Due to the timing of the introductions in Europe, the US model years usually lag one year behind (partially also for marketing purposes) as can be seen on the current SL500 and the upcoming SL600. So it may be helpful for US customers to assume that any facelift will hit the 06 model year, not the 05.
