2003 - Front Discs - Should these be handed ?
Hi all,
I persuaded the wife to "upgrade" from her 2000 320 SLK to a 2002 55 AMG and I am VERY glad she took my advice
I can see from browsing the forum most answers to questions I have already but can't see an answer for this question.
I went and picked up some new front discs today from the dealer. He had them in stock (which worries me how many he must get through !!) - they have part number A230 421 07 12 but they are both identical ?
I expected to have one for the right and one for the left ?
Surely this means one is rotating against the direction of the internal vented "vanes" ??
Can anyone give any advice, are they both supposed to be the same ?
Thanks is advance,
Justin

Yes, both are identical to save costs of manufacture. I have to admit, the cost of factory non 030 disks is GREAT/very cheap as a result....relative to 030, aftermarketor even facelifted 55 brakes of course (~1/8-1/10th as much).

Thanks for your replies there - All is well then
And yes the price was great, £64 per disc incl VAT/TAX which is pretty good.
I would have thought the scrap value of the metal was more than that alone !!!
