SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: 2013 SL Pics Revealed!! Full color 30+ pics!!
I think I'll keep my 2006...still think the lines flow so much better.
PS Those A/C vents are just weird looking to me. I'd probably black them out if I ever had the inclination to get one...just too prominent in the interior.

The same goes for the rest of the dashboard.
They probably going in the right direction, because the people going to buy this car new is mostly older people remembering the good old days
This seems to be a car that will look much better in real life than in pictures...that being said, it still looks very high tech and retro at the same time, very interesting....wonder if AMG will come out with a new direct-injected 12 cylinder engine to sit at the top of the model line-up above the SL 63 .....?

P.S. - the 2009 model SL 63 with the 518 horspower NA V-8 and the 7-speed wet-clutch transmission hit zero to 60 MPH in 3.9 seconds in a couple of the auto magazines.....so therefore:
The all new SL 63, if it does indeed have a 600+ horsepower 5.5 liter DI twin turbo V-8 (most likely) with the newly updated 7 speed wet clutch transmission, and the reduction of over 400 lbs in weight (isn't that whats been said?), and better aerodynamics and software upgrades and newly updated Michelin pilot super sport rubber....should mean 0 to 60 in the low 3's? The new CLS 63 performance package is said to hit it in 3.7 seconds no problem, so since this all new SL will be lighter and more powerful than the CLS, and with wider rubber, and most likely an AMG designed LSD, then the low 3's seems entirely plausible.....we'll just have to wait and see.....
P.S. #2: I'm sure we all are hoping AMG comes out with a 12 cylinder version of this new 5.5 liter DI bi-turbo engine....if they added 4 more cylinders to it, it could be anywhere between 6.5 liters to 7.5 liters, and with larger turbo's it could easily be an 800+ horsepower engine if they wanted it to be....I hope they do it......

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
)))) Benz design is "ok" - possibly because I was looking at aston martin lately.

)))) Seriously, C. Schiffer (at least I think that's her) looks stuck and uncomfortable standing on that hay in high heels with two bags loaded with "shop loot"
))

That doesn't make for an impressive look from behind, at all. Quite the opposite!

Take the CLS for instance! Just look at that freakin' thing!!! Like a dog, bending over in the woods, taking a s**t!
Totally narrow, and downwards leaning!
I laughed for an hour the first time I saw one in reality, and just couldn't believe it!

This new SL's back end is luckily not as bad as the CLS's, but half way there...
You can sence they are thinking towards carefully trying to resemble a "high speed bicycle helmet", with those aerodynamic back ends thing going...

And that sure goes for the girly SLK too, as already been stated...

I would be very impressed if you could name, say five or six cars WITHOUT radials.
