Red P Warning - Brake switch?
Hi guys,
The last couple of days I am getting an intermittent "RED P" warning in my SL55. It does not prohibit me from shifting into drive, reverse or neutral and does not have any type of tension on it that would lead me to believe the plastic shifter part is going bad. Also, the correct gear is indicated as I move the shifter (D,R,N) but that is also in RED.
Any ideas as to what causes this? I have read that the brake solenoid / switch may give this type of warning but I have no idea where it is located or how hard it would be to change out?
Anyone have experience in changing that switch out or any other ideas as to what is causing the warning light?
Thanks...David
