Straight line Automotive title problem
I bought a 09 Sl65 from these guys over a month ago. Can't seem to get my title. Anyone else have a problem or know about these guys? My car was also missing the mats, tool kit and air compressor I asked for these items and of course have not recieved them. Annoying on a high end car. These guys have a lot of nice cars. I was hoping to start a relationship. I do 2 or 3 cars a year.

Thanks for warning.
I was very close to closing a purchase from this business but found a better deal on a used SL65 from a Benz dealer.
At least you have possession of the vehicle, but it sounds like timing is the biggest issue as you probably have plans to resell this car.
Good-luck in resolving this issue.

Perhaps they are still waiting for the title from the lien holder of the previous owner. Did you see the title when you purchased the car?

There's truth to the saying that "possession is 9/10th of the law"; especially when you can prove you've paid for the vehicle.
Biggest concern might be whether car has a salvage title.
g'luck.

I guess I just expect people to do what they say they are going to do.

Carcommander Do NOT trust Carfax
I had a MB bought back and about a year later I noticed the car for sale at a used car dealer...
I checked CarFax and it did not say BOOO, Nothing, Nada about the car being a Lemon Law buy back...
Plus I am sure that you know those guys used to buy almost all of the MB buy backs and Lemon Law cars. I am not sure of they still do...

RE: Title
I assume you have spoken with them about the title? What do they say? I would be all over them until you clearly understand what is going on.
It could be waiting on a lien release, but they could also owe the selling dealer or a Floor Plan company $$ for the title and have not paid....happens more often than one realizes.
I would give them a reasonable deadline to produce the title or tell them you will return the car and want your money back.
For what it's worth I tried to work an E63 deal with them a couple of years ago, but they were neither straight up or forthcoming when I asked basic questions about the car. Did not like the way they did business at all. I ended up doing much better a month later and got my silver E63 in Florida.
Good luck, don't let it fester.

start documenting
Send them a letter registered mail recapping the situation in case this comes to litigation in the future......
You could include a statement that says you may be planning to sell the car in the future and if not having the title delays the sale, they will be liable for any additional costs or damages, i.e. including depreciation of sales price due to delaying the sale.
They are not reacting to anything else, so time to stop playing nice......unfortunately........
