SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Whats the best performance vehicle?
#4
I love my SL55; that said, if PERFORMANCE was ALL I wanted I would have something else. My SL55 - to ME - is a car that does many many things very very well. Fast, comfortable, striking, luxurious...it wears many hats and exceeds most cars that are specifically targeted at ONE of those disciplines and holds its own against that more singularly focused vehicles.
As for pure PERFORMANCE...I'd take the Vette...but I wouldn't want to drive on cross country, or out to dinner, etc....
My .02 cents...

For cross country what about the special shocks the vettes now use that adjust every 100 thousand mill-seconds? From review it makes them all things to all conditions??? Also you would get to dinner quicker

reliablity would go to the Vette. I would never own a MB that was not under warranty. the vette is a world class performance car, the SL is more of a comfortable cruiser with some good HP. Loved the looks of the 2003-2008 SL, MB has allowed the government to dictate design from that point on and the SL's looks have suffered, not looking any better with the newest attempt. It was one of the best looking cars on the road. i also don't think the ZR1 is pretty more of a badass looking speed tool.
