Yes I do. She totally supports my AMG fetish... She is coming with, but not sure if she wants to attend the school or just watch.

Sweet! I wish I was going. I did go to the event in Atlanta (Road Atlanta track) a couple summers ago. The whole thing was top notch. The evening before, we met the instructors over cocktails and then enjoyed a nice dinner while they taught us some basic driving stuff. The next day started early and we got tons of driving in. Driving the SLS and the CLK63 BS at high speed (at least for me) stoled the show.

What a great gift from the misses.

Sounds like they do a nice job. She actually was looking at the 2 day school, but apparently, their program is set up such that you have to do the 1 day school 1st and then you can do the 2 days school. Should be a good time I will have to make sure the SL is all cleaned up for the trip over to Palm Beach. I think we are going to go over on Saturday and stay until Monday. It is a fairly long ride from here accross the state. I wil let her pick the hotel...

Yep, the one day program is the first class. The two day program is considered intermediate. They have it at Laguna Seca every year. I have been working on convincing the wife that we need to go to Monterey for a few days. I would go to Laguna Seca and she could spend the day in San Fransisco shopping.

Seems like a fair trade off. Although I will tell you that last time we were in SF, I was there for a conference and she went $hopping... (ouch)

Hey David,

I was thinking the car lineup should include the new E with the 5.5 bi-turbo so I did a little checking on the net. It looks like you will be driving the SLS GT3 as well http://www.benzinsider.com/tag/amg-driving-academy/ I am sick with envy. You have to tell us all about it.

Totally psyched to go to this. I have been on the track as a passenger with a buddy of mine that formerly taught at Moroso... looking forward to learning something more about driving other than just pushing "start" (I'm dropping the hammer...)

Hi,

The GT3 is only offered in Europe at this time. Cars at Advanced and Pro level of US ADA are C63 Coupe, SLS, SL63, E63 (w/5.5) and CLS63.

Thanks for the clarification Dave. Is the CLK63 Black series out of the line up? I drove it at the one day class two years ago. It was an absolute blast to drive.

Yeah the CLK Black is out. They have a couple cars left which are used for taxi rides by likes of Tommy Kendall but not used as car by students.

Here is what it looks like in SLS GT3
