SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: 04 WHITE SL55

No pano or parktronic but has the others keyless-distronic-seats etc.
Private party sale- what's a fair price? carfax is clean
thanks

Key-less go and the cooled seats are a must. The glass top would be nice, but then again in AZ you probably either have the top down or want the top up (with suede and metal over your head, not glass). I think distronic is a waste...but that's just me.
The disadvantages of the 04 is that they no longer qualify for an extended warranty, but repair costs may not be a concern for you given your other toys. Still, I'd at least run it through a shop for a Pre-Purchase Inspection.
Some of the guys here will remind you that the 2004 was the last year of the old command unit with CD based navigation and lame radio controls. Honestly, this doesn't bother me. Having previously owned a 2006 SL55, I can say that the sound system in my 2004 SL600 is better. I think navigation units in both cars (my 06 SL55 and current 04 SL600) were/are horrible and I use a handheld unit when I need directions.
I'd offer $32-35k if you can live with some of the drawbacks I mentioned above.

I spoke to my local Benz dealership- because the miles worked out they could still offer an in- house warranty for $3,600 for 3 years???
I might just roll the dice and decline as there are lot's of independent Benz technicians around. The car can be purchased for 34k and I'm waiting on ppi to come back for final decision.

.....just the look
anybody know the cost to do this or who does quality work?

NADA, KBB, and Edmunds were all right around that number. Maybe I could've dickered and gotten it for a few thousand bucks less, I but had it checked out at local MB dealership (clean bill of health) and decided that given the mileage, I couldn't let it get away.
To me the few thousand I could've saved wasn't whole negotiation process. Given the miles, I had to have it.
