SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: 0-125mph times

0-125mph times
Reading about the new SL63 and the new SL65 ( I thought they were ditching)
the V12 but obviously not. They quoted times 0 to 125. The SL63 done it
in 12.9 and the SL65 11.8. So I thought I would have some fun and checked mine. After 3 goes I managed 12.57 , now a lot of you will poo,poo it. But
there is no reason for me to lie, remember mine is re mapped with a K&N
and high octane fuel, and well run in now. Even if I was a second out then
13.57 is still very good.

I realise my 63 is the slowest but c'mon it's only under a second. we all have
very fast cars that's for sure. I wonder what the GTR's time would be 0-125.

Previous R1Kx shakedown runs...
I sent up a different rear wing setup (Yoshi duckbill CF trunk/spoiler) and CCW 18's on M&H dragmaster tires for the shakedown runs. I'll get Switzer to post the runs when my shakedown 1/4 runs are done...probably next month.
It'll be exciting to see what happens.

I had a chance to do a pull against an SL63 last week from 40mph. He wanted to honk it off, but I just told him to go whenever he's ready and I'll react. Wasn't even a race. I came around him like he was standing still.
Jon, that GTR is silly. Google the AMS Alpha at the Texas Mile last week. 233mph. *** me....

11.0x vs 12.5x at that speed is bus lengths. Multiple.

The Omega I think is still in beta testing though and won't be rolled out until more R&D is done to make sure all the ancillary components hold up. Whatever the case, it is badass.

We'll see...the previous R1kx build for another GTR owner was @ 9.03 @ 162.98mph (with sub optimal conditions - see below) but my build is another generation build with a little bit of Switzer skunk works added.

I knew he was bringing a knife to a bazooka fight, that's why I told him to just go when he's ready to give him a sporting chance. He was very gracious in defeat.
I do love the song they put on when they down shift and go WOT. However, an uncorked V12 is also music to one's ears.
But yeah, totally unfair fight. A tuned SL63 wouldn't have faired much better.
