I'm thinking of checking out the Pilot super sports since they have such good reviews. Anyone here running on them on an R230? It sounds like they have a stiffer sidewall so maybe they don't waggle?

'05 SL 55 Black/Black w/mods from Eurocharged/Kleemann/BuckheadImports
I'll let u know as soon as I get the
I only have 1 pilot super sport so far on my SL 55 but in a month or two I'm gonna replace the other 3 tires, which are p zero rosso's, with pilot super sports....then I'll post a review if I can remember to do it. From what I've been hearing and reading they are the best street tire in the world so far period. I can't wait to see if it enhances my car's performance at all....especially since it's in the shop right now getting some various eurocharged upgrades in addition to a few other performance and cosmetic upgrades....

I have (4) on my SL65 and no wiggle... Soo Far they seem great!
I am curious to see how long they last as opposed to the RE050a that only got 6,000-8,000 miles on the inner rears.

When you say wiggle do you mean the sidewalls are too soft on the limit meaning the car falls about all over the place?

Found Bridgestones wiggle on full throttle only.....rear tires.......front tires not effected....
Wiggle meaning rear tire sidewalls buckle and unstable until they finally hook up after letting off gas....no issue with Continentals DWs in my comparative experience....less expensive also.....

I got ps2's and the tail does wiggle when you mash on it, a bit nervous to do any tuning. I'm not sure if new tires would solve it or if I will need to upgrade rear toe links/diff

Michelin PSS
I replaced the PS2's on my E63 with new PSS all around last week. The PSS is a better tire on that car, the rears have an inch wider tread despite being the same size, fronts are about the same dimensions. PSS are considerably less expensive that PS2 too.
The rears have awesome traction, and no wiggle at all on that car, but it has a Quaife and a lot less torque than my V12.
Will also go with PSS on my SL when the rears wear out......likely later this Summer based on inner wear from negative camber taking it's toll.

07' SL65, 04' E55, 03' Evo8, 08' GSXR, DSM's...
These are the tires i plan on getting when the SL needs tires, which will be soon.
My buddy has them on his GTR and loves them. I have another buddy who has them on his Evo, which i've tried the tires out on, and seem good so far, although i didn't push them too hard.

My SL63 came with Pirelli from new, I fitted Michelin PS2 and it was dreadful,
and felt like I fitted jelly tyres. When I put the Pirelli back I noticed a big
raised ridge inside, I was told it was to stop sidewall collapse under hard
acceleration , with Pirelli back on everything is now stable again. Lesson..
fit what was designed for it.

I might have to take a closer look at these in the months to come, just ordered a tune and don't think the ps2's will hold up well

Just to follow up, I got the PSS in stock 18" size, and wow, what a tire! These things have loads of grip and are dead quiet and smooth so far. Even when over-inflated from the tireshop by 5psi they were much smoother and quieter than the PZeros or F1s I ran before. I've only had them for a few days, so I can't comment on how long the will last or if they get louder over time, but so far I've very happy with them. I've already done some spirited drives in the mountains and I have not found the limit yet without burying the throttle in a tight turn.

so I heard they are a bit wider than most tires, would a 305 25 20 fit the back? I also didn't see this size show up on any sites as available

I have 20" wheels and am getting close to needing tires.
Looking at PSS, Conti DWS and Bridgestone RE970. Primarily I'm looking for something quiet with pretty decent tire wear. Thoughts/experience/suggestions?

If you don't romp on it too much the ps2 has been a great tire. Really quiet and I am sure I could get 20k from mine. I am about 9k into them and have 65% tread or so left. I am thinking of giving up some longevity for traction though as I spend a good bit of my time looking at the traction light

PSS wiggled like crazy on the BS and had to take them off. They were of course more comfortable riding then Corsas but any high speed anything caused them to wiggle. After the Corsas wear out will consider the RE-11 or R-888. Anyone had any luck with these tires?
