johnson pumps
It sounds like you got a 10-24503-03 johnson pump for your SL65. It is a cm30p7-1, but it has 16mm hose sizes, and pumps 4 gpm. The same thing happened to me. the correct number is 10-24504-03. it has 20mm hose sizes, and is rated at 7gpm. I was unaware there were different "long numbers" that fell under the cm30 heading until I got one shipped to me.

Owen, as soon as I read your post, I had to run downstairs and check the old Johnson CM30. (I keep all my old parts, God only knows why) Believe it or not, I did have the 10-24504 version with the 20mm inlet and outlet. I will say that the IATs were noticably higher with that pump than after instlling the Bosch 010 pump. Maybe I just got a bunk unit? I know that the CM30 in my old E55 that my neighbor bought is rock solid. That car runs cool and strong.

Wow that scares me! I just removed a 010 bosch pump to install a johnson. The body shop had the bumper cover off for painting rock chips, and I have only had the car for a month, so I took the opportunity to change the pump and add a second H/E with fans. Now I wonder if I should have left the Bosch pump on there. I know people say the 010 Bosch is a new style replacement, but the date code on the one I removed was 10-1-03. That means the 010 has been around for 10 years!
