What are the difference between 2005/06 and 07/08 SL55?
For sure front bumper; what about suspension, tranny, nav software etc?
Thanks.

2007 Väth SL65 AMG. 2007 BMW Alpina B5s. 2007 BMW M6.
I can only speak for the 65.
But apart from the brakes, I guess it mostly goes for the 55 also. Probably even the 350 and 500 for that matter.
Here are my thoughts;
- The front brakes are improved (??), with 2 pistons less, from 8 to 6 pistons (strange).
- The grill got 3 slots instead of previous 4.
- The steering wheel got paddles instead of buttons for gear changing.
- Front fog lights got the chromed rings.
- Rear lights got the black mid section more greyisch.
- Roof switch is in silver instead of the previous black one.
- I think that electric boot came available as option.
(- I've heard that the very expensive trouble with the ABC-clogging is now eliminated.)

In addition to everything mentioned above, some members who have owned both 2003-2006 SL's and 2007+ SL's claim that the 2007+ cars are less problematic and just drive better.
I've yet to get behind the wheel of a 2007+ so I cannot say.

2008 SL55, 2008 CLK 550 (toast), 2006 V-Star
Hey guys. I'm upping this thread because I recently picked up a 2008 SL55, and I'm a little confused as to what can and can't be done performance-wise with my vehicle vs. the pre-facelift models. I've already figured out that the 2008 has the upgraded throttle body, but when I go to look at certain sites for upgrades, the vehicle lists often exclude the 2008. Is it because there were a bunch of upgrades for the facelift, or are parts just not compatible?

its because there were hardly any 08 cars made. any upgrades from other years will work on your car.
